Possible yes.
Even documented.
Some think pieces of it were on purpose.
As I read it, it has not been seen that the Tyranids can actually CAUSE warp travel. Although it has been seen that they recognize and utilize it. To whatever degree that is worth pondering.
I often miss things, however. Worth reading more.
shrug.

Would be cool if Kryptman can trick the hive fleet to attack Abaddon's black crusade!
Does anyone know where I can find stories about the ork tyranid war?

Tyranid Hive Fleets travel via warpspace, the tyranic hive mind exists in warpspace and where the tyranid are gathering in large numbers in realspace, the warpspace area is directly brought under the shadow of the hive mind.
The tyranid hivemind is an enemy of the chaos powers, it bring total and utter order to the warp whereever it is strongest, the hive has no wants, no sins, no corruption. There are references to splinter fleets getting too small and too far from the hive proper and becoming warped and mutated whilst trapped near the eye of terror or other areas of warp/realspace overlap.
The mutation of the warp would be chaotic and unstable and such splinter fleets would likely be destroyed by the hivefleet proper, just as a cancer being removed.
Tyranids represent a flawless and total order, a single purpose, the more of this galaxy that is devoured and brought into the hive, the less there is for chaos to enslave and debase, the greater the hivemind grows, the more it will start starving the chaos powers.
They are utter and pure enemies imo, two forms of super predator drawing on opposing concepts, one extragalatic bringing Order, the other extradimensional and embodying Chaos

They use the warp all the time. Useing genestealers and other fleets as beacons, or some times drifting through protected by the hive mind. Remember that a lot of tyranids are psykers easly as smart as a man, and vastly more so when mentaly connected.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole |

Thought so. That said, would it be possible for the Tyranids to invade the Eye of Terror? If so, why the hell is Chaos bothering with the Imperium?!?
Because the Tyranids haven't actually come anywhere near that part of the galaxy yet. IIRC, they've mainly been an issue in the Southern and Eastern edges of the galaxy, as well as the hive fleets that have come up somewhere southwest of the galactic center.

Hive ships travel through the warp. The only race to have true FTL travel is the necrons. Everyone else has to go to the warp.
In dawn of war 2, gabriel angelos (the captain from the original dawn of war) is coming to reinforce you, but just as they are about to arrive the hive mind blocks out their navigators sight and he says unless you kill thier nord queen their fleet may never emerge from the warp.
Also one of the first recorded incidents with the tyranids, possibley before Tyran, was when an imperium territory was attacked by a group of chaos mutated enemies. Later, after they discovered the real tyranids, they realized it was a very small splinter fleet that had wondered too close to the eye of terror and had become chaos mutated.

I can't remember where but one of ther word bearer books the leader quotes the tranids as one of hte reasons to conquer the imperium. His idea was to make humanity stronger by giving it the backing of chaos thus giving it a better chance against the tyranids.

I believe that was the first First Acolyte introduced in the first book, can't remember his name. He was talking about how the Imperium of man was weak, and would fall to the greenskin or the tyranid swarm... It was EITHER THAT or when they were on that ice moon or whatever it was. It's been too long since I read those books...

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."
-Excerpt from the Three Hundred and Forty-First
Book of Epistles of Lorgar
