as else where noted myself and a friend of mine are going to start doing commission army painting. having seen some of the stuff you guys get i'm sure we can produce much higher quality stuff for the same sort of reasonable rate.

we both paint alot, very quickly to a very high standerd. we've been staff members at GW so we're used to it, and we've both made the final cut at golden daemon plus got best painted army nominations at GT's so the stuff we're producing is quality. add in the fact we both enjoy it should be a good deal for all involved.

we're planning on doing 1000pt minimum, and we will judge how much each army will cost to paint on a case by case basis, obviously quotes are free lol likewise we will be interested in doing specialist games - BB, BFG etc or non GW products. untill we have somewhere proper to run this through then any of you are more than welcome to contact me direct for anything you want doing or for examples of our work!

pricing samples are in my opinion daft. thers alot of difference between painting a goblin or a space marine so sites that say X amount per model dont really work. if you;ve got something in mind list it up an i'll let you know how much.

What i meant was, for starters:

Place price next to the pictures you already posted. This way everyone would know what sort of price to expect
with some sort of visual reference.

QFT lol but maybe they are just that good. I'd like to know what the pricing is like Great paint on these models, but I wouldn't go as far as to say "much higher quality" than what dakka painters bring to the table. Thanx for sharing and good luck with the new venture.

I agree his friend is great. He's awesome if he can pull that quality on 1000pts. I don't have the patience or his skill lol.

I wasnt ment to offend any dakka painters. and yes this is posted on many forums. we are whores

Just in general from looking around at the army commision sites i can find and seeing what my friends get they are seriously over paying for under quality work. I'm sure there are good commission sites out there but they seam far between.

The other guy is fantastic yes. But you have to bear in mind most of those pics are one off display pieces with alot of time gone into them. Army painting is alot different and they are just ment to show we are good painters.

The standerd we are aiming for is not to disimilar to the ultramarine as between us we can knock out squads like that very quickly.

Price wise it really does vary and is judged case by case. But at a push lets say the following 1500 space marine army

commander
libby
3 tac squads
3 attack bikes
3 land speeders
2 predators
whirlwind

would probably come in at around £175

Ok fine, we'll use this as a public case in point.

I want my army painting. Here's what I have:

5 Cadian HQ
5 Cadian Heavy Weapons teams
6 Sentinels
2 Basilisks

Price me up man!

About £200. which roughly breaks down to about £2 per model, £5 per sentinel and £10 per tank i think.

Ok cool, now whereabouts are you based? Ideally I want to bring my army to you and collect it when it''s done. It will cost be a fortune to ship it around the UK.

in manchester. shipping is abit of a hassel. i recent shipped an eldar army in a large figure case which cost me £11. but yeah is up to you.

i do go a few tournaments tho and have friends who go to more if that makes it any easier for exchanges.

On that ultramarine's base it says "4 hrs". I'm assuming that means he spent 4 hours painting that model to get it to that level of quality. I don't know if you'll be able to do that for an army's worth

Any chance of posting up a squad of models either of you has done for a reference point for those interested? It would show you can not only paint single models well, but mass-produce, too

Excellent painting, btw, and your prices do seem reasonable (although definitely out of my league )!

As individual pieces they are all very good. But lik ethe baove poster id quite like to see a normal squad to see what you 2 can do

The spartans are a squad set i did. We'll post up pictures as we do commision work so you can see what we produce.

The ultramarine was 4 hours of his work yes.

Basically i paint very quickly to a high standerd so i will mostly be basecoating and shading an such then handing them over for the highlighting and detail work and and free hand etc for him to do.

Thankfully most hobby acrylic paints these days aren't made with the nasty stuff like heavy metals. Really don't try that with professional acrylics though. Stuff like cadmium, even cobalt get toxic with prolonged exposure.
