White Devil and I teamed up yesterday. Here is a picture of the store front...

Here are our two army lists:

Chaos Space Marines (GBF)
Daemon Prince, Wings, MoS, Lash of Submission
Daemon Prince, Wings, MoS, Lash of Submission

4x Nurghal Marines/2x meltagun, Icon
Champion/power fist
Rhino/extra armor

4x Nurghal Marine/2x meltagun, Icon
Champion/power fist
Rhino/Extra armor

4x Nurghal Marine/2x meltagun, Icon
Champion/power fist
Rhino/Extra armor

Chaos Daemons (White Devil)
Fateweaver
Tally Man

5x Plague Bearers
3x nurglings

5x Blood Crushers/Intrument
5x Blood Crushers/Intrument

Each list could be up to 1000 points and had to follow the standard rules for the FOC but there were no restrictions like Adepticon. We were allowed to use the CSM icons for our daemons and the Tally Man could boost the Nurghal Marines. Also Fateweaver's bubble also worked for CSM (all friendly models). So the two lists were designed to heavily juice each other.

The tournament was held at the new Skul-N-Bonz gaming store in Port Richey, Florida at 6209 Ridge Road. There were a lot of teams there will some of the following combos:

Chaos Space Marines & Orks (round 1)
Orks & Orks (round 2)
Space Marines & Space Wolves (Round 3)

All the missions had three objectives plus some tactical bonus points.

The 1st mission was versus Orks and Chais Space Marines...

Orks

Mekkboy/KFF & power klaw
20x shoota boys/3x big shoota, boss pole & power klaw
20x slugga boys/boss pole & power klaw
20x slugga boys/boss pole & power klaw

3x killa kans

15x Lootas

Chaos Space Marines:
Daemon Prince/Wings, MoS, Lash of Submission

6x Nurghal Marines/2x melta
Champion/power fist
Rhino

6x Nurghal Marines/2x meltagun
Champion/power fist
Rhino

8x Chaos terminators/8x combi plasma, 2x power fist

In this mission you selected one unit from each army to carry a demo charge. Only these units could hold objectives. I selected one of my Nurghal Marine squads and White Devil selected his Fate Weaver. Our opponents selected their shoota boys and the Chaos terminators. Here was their initial setup with the Ork/Chaos horde formation... sorry but you can only see a few of the vast greenskin mobs...

Each team placed two objectives. You had to control the most objectives for the primary, the secondary was table quarters and the tertiary was victory points. This mission also featured a warp table. At the start of each turn you rolled 2d6 to see what would happen. The first turn was night fight. There was plenty of terrain on the table. White Devil selected the following units for his first wave:

Fateweaver & both Bloodcrusher squads

We also won the roll for deployment and chose to go first. I setup my three rhinos behind cover with the two lash princes behind them. Our opponents setup both of their demo charge units across the table from my brick and held everything else in reserve. The objectives were all placed fairly close together close to my brick of rhinos and the two daemon princes. Our opponents rolled to seize the initiative and up popped a six. Oh well. The beginning was looking good for our opponents, a lively pair for sure. Here are the members of the first team we played...

They had some fantastic looking minis and the ork/CSM combination was something I really hadn't considered for a matchup. We had a lot of orks and those eight Chaos terminators surging in towards the objectives. Not any shooting as all their foot sloggers run toward the two main objectives. Our turn White Devil rolls for his first wave and in comes Kairos and the crushers. I start to feel a little better but White aDevil is feeling a little ill in the morning... Probably from the beers and wings the night before. My rhinos move up cutting off all corridors between buildings and the lash princes come in close enough so that everything is in Fateweaver's bubble. Here is one of our lash princes chilling behind a Nurghal rhino waiting for the approaching horde to come in range of the submission move...

One prince lashes the Chaos terminators closer and they pass their pinning check. The other lash prince goes for the double lash and pulls the Chaos terminators even closer. Again they pass their pinning check. The Nurghal Marines unload all their meltas and cap three of the terminators. They pass their leadership test from the shooting.

Second turn the opponents roll for all their reserves and everything comes in ! Wow just wow. Here are the opponents' Chaos Rhinos along with their Lash Prince...

The Lootas move and run into a building in the far corner from where our objectives are located. The lash prince and Nurghal Marines roll onto the table at full speed heading towards our lines. The Chaos terminators and ork hordes come up towards the objectives. The ork hordes are not going to he in range to assault but the Chaos terminators rapid fire their plasma into a hull down Nurghal rhino then assault it but can only manage to immobilize it. This happens to be our rhino carrying a demo charge but it is sitting right up on one of the two objectives. Their lash prince is definitely put of lash range so he runs up using their two rhinos for cover.

Our turn the two princes double lash the orks carrying the demo charge into crusher charge range and the Nurghal meltas cap the rest of the Chaos terminators. The first demo charge explodes but nothing is touched by the blast. Fateweaver spawns the ork nob then the crushers charge and vaporize their second unit carrying a demo charge. The second demo charge goes off and puts one wound on a crusher. And finally the aftermath of the initial confrontation versus the horde...

The opponents can no longer control either objective since we capped their two demo charge units so they will have to try throwing everything at us to contest. By the way none of White Devil's reserves came in this turn.

The rest of the game was spent trying to decimate as much of the enemy as possible. There was one killa kan that survived at least eight rounds of close combat versus a daemon prince that could not roll a 5 or 6 to destroy on the AP table to save his life... it was a hoot for sure. We won with a massacre and were ready for a much needed break before the second round. I was using the club dice... someone must have swiped all my PIMP dice at Adepticon...

I still have one though...

Our second team we faced was ork & ork foot sloggers. Lots and lots of nicely painted boys with a couple of gretchen squads and a deffkopta. This was an extremely difficult mission to win. Both teams had to place their objective in the corner of their DZ (table quarters). You had to control the enemy objective and have your own uncontested. This is one of those missions where you look at that big horde and want to play for the draw. White Devil came up with a brilliant scheme and my expertise with the mech put us back in the thick of it.

Like I said White Devil came up with a brilliant strategy to win the mission... basically we deployed our rhinos in the center of our DZ so that we could defend our own deployment zone with the mech and cut through the ork horde with the daemons. We started off with all three rhinos on the table with one in front of the other two to cutoff enemy LOS. Both lash princes started behind the rhinos for cover. Our opponents got to go first and immediately started running the boyz from out of their DZ towards our objective. They had one mob split off to move towards their objective to contest. Their lootas setup in cover and immediately started shooting at the front rhino and wrecked it. The squad of Nurghal Marines disembarked from the side and since the lootas were the last to shoot they could not touch this squad. Our turn White Devil again rolled and got his preferred wave. Kairos and both packs of crushers came in front of our rhinos and then ran over towards the ork horde. The lash princes popped out and lashed two mobs of boys closer to us. We peppered one mob with some shooting and that was it for the first turn. There would definitely be some blood split the next turn.

Second turn our opponents made what I considered to be their biggest mistake... Snikrot and his full squad of kommandos came in on the table edge closest to our rhinos but were too far away to charge... in fact their burnas just missed the squad of Nurghal Marines that had been forced to disembark. They should have brought brought in Snikrot and his kommandos on the short table edge closest to our objective. They had held both mobs of gretchin and the deffkopta in reserve and these units came in on the long table edge closest to our objective. If they had brought in Snikrot close to our objective we would have had to concentrate more of our forces on holding our own objective. The two squads of Nurghal Marines still in mobile rhinos had no problems countering the gretchin and the deffkopta.

Their main brick of boys plowed on towards our crushers and Kairos while the lootas fired upon the Fateweaver for no unsaved wounds. The first assault saw the crushers pulverize an entire mob of boys... It was really sick !

Our turn the two lash princes joined into the melée while the two squads of mobile Nurghal Marines executed a driveby on the deffkopta. The squad of walking Nurghal Marines shot and charged Snikrot and his boys, bringing them below ten and destroying them when they broke. The daemons and the lash princes were now engaged with two full mobs and grinder through a lot of them but we could only get one mob destroyed and the other mob stayed put. It was a solid round for the forces of disorder but we still had our work cut out for us.

Turn three our opponents bring in their last squad of gretchin in a desparate attempt to get onto our objective. We had popped smoke on the two rhinos the last turn and they successfully weathered an intense round of shooting from the lootas. It's pretty much back straight into close combat again. Both the warboss and big mekk go down really hard getting jumped hard on by the crushers. We grind through another mob but both the Fateweaver and one lash prince bite the proverbial dust. It was pretty funny because the last turn White Devil made over 18 straight rerollable saves for Kairos. Those could have all been attacks on crushers but I suppose it ouldnt have really mattered. It's just that I notice often players will focus every possible attack on Kairos when there are other units that would be less troublesome to drop. This was a big turn because we broke all but one mob in the middle of the table freeing up the last lash prince and both packs of crushers to start the slog over to the enemy objective. There was still a pretty good size mob left that had dropped the Fateweaver and the first lash prince but we would tie them up with a squad of Nurghal Marines.

Our third turn in came all the Nurghal daemonic units lead by the Tally Man. The three Nurghal Marines that had crushed Snikrot and his boys fired into the remnant mob ready to charge them. The lash prince flew up and lashed the lootas out of cover while the crushers moved then ran towards the last mob of boys holding the enemy objective. The other two squads of Nurghal Marines shot then charged the gretchin, breaking them in close combat and destroying them. Our objective had been secured. The lash prince charged the lootas and killed four then they lost some more taking armor saves since they had lost close combat but still being fearless.

Turn four the last mob of boys move back as far as possible keeping within three inches of their objective but playing keep away from the big surge of crushers. The three Nurghal Marines are brought down to the champion over in the center of the table but the combat is drawn. The lash prince kills some more lootas and destroys them when they break.

Our turn the lash prince flies over and lashes the mob closer to the crushers. Teh Tally Man leads his plague bearers on a counter charge at the center of the table to help out the Nurghal Marine champion. The crushers all line up to combo charge the mob... It's all over at the end of this turn and we massacre again for full points.

Okay time for the final batrep. White Devil and I are up against an Imperial power armor coalition... Vanilla Marines and Space Wolves. Their lists looked something like this:

Vanilla
Master of the Forge

Techmarine/thunderfire cannon
Dreadnaught/multi-melta

10x tactical Marine/meltagun, plasma cannon, power fist - rhino
9x scout/8x sniper rifle & heavy bolter + Telion

Space Wolves
Wolfguard battle leader/stormshield & frost blade

Venerable dreadnaught/multi-melta

9x Grey Hunter/meltagun & power fist - rhino
10x Blood Claws/2x power fist - rhino

Predator Destructor

The mission you placed five objectives each but only two of them were your primary and secondary objectives. Deployment was 12" in from your long table edge. Lots of terrain, pretty much a cityfight table. We won the roll for deployment and chose to go second.

At this point we had full points so barring a loss we felt we could take 1st place. We were playing the team in second place so I knew it could be a close game. Our opponents had a lot of mech so we had to keep it tight. They were very competitive in their attitude and there was some going over the rules a few times but nothing like a major altercation.

We setup our three rhinos behind a building with the lash princes behind the treads. I also remember now that our opponents had an LRC with a multi-melta in the SW list. They infilitrated their scouts into a building in the far corner of our DZ and placed the MotF in a building by himself as well as the techmarine in another building. They lined up their treads across their DZ with the LRC positioned for a hopeful side shot on one of our rhinos. They got to go first and had some good shooting with the scouts taking a wound off one the lash princes. The LRC moved up and did not have LOS on our outer placed rhino but they argued about it and we gave them the shots from the assault cannon and multi-melta. Of course the rhino was destroyed and the lash prince behind it took another wound from the ensuing explosion. Oh well it was a good turn for them.

Gareth rolled for his first wave and again got the preferred units. The Fateweaver and Blood Crushers came in behind our two remaining rhinos between the two lash princes. The lash prince closest to the scouts flew over by them and lashed them out of the building close enough to assault them. The Nurghal Marines forced to disembark moved into a building and destroyed the SW LRC with melta fire. Our two remaining rhinos pulled up between buildings to clog them and cut off LOS. One of our rhinos was close enough to shoot at a SM rhino and blew it up. The other lash prince lashed out the tactical Marines out from the wreckage and was close enough to assault. The first lash prince charged the scouts and dropped five but they passed their break test. The other lash prince charged the tactical squad and dropped another five, also passing two invulnerable saves from the power fist. The scouts failed three more armor saves due to not breaking and the tactical Marines also failed a couple of saves. We had quickly seized back the initiative and we were well placed to hold our two objectives. I should also mention that the Wolfguard battle leader and lame Hunters were forced to spill out when we blew up their LRC. Our opponents would place large craters to represent the wrecks and put their Marines inside them for cover... very clever.

Second turn the MotF shoots at a rhino but it scatters off and kills a couple Grey Hunters hiding in the crater. The thunderfire cannon peppers the Nurghal Marines in the building but does no wounds. The two dreadnaughts fire at rhinos but can only shake one. The predator takes some more shots at a rhino and shakes the other one. We go right back into assault and both lash princes destroy the scouts and tactical Marines then consolidate towards the enemy.

Our second turn in comes all our daemonic reserves deep striking beside the Space Wolves in the crater and the techmarine in a building. One of our Nurghal rhinos pulls up beside the MotF and smokes him with more melta fire. The other Nurghal squad pulls up beside the vanilla dreadnaught and destroy it with their meltas. One lash prince flies over beside the SW venerable dreadnaught and lashes it around so the last squad of Nurghal Marines in the building can shoot into it's rear armor blowing off it's DCCW. The other lash prince flies over and lashes the Space Wolves out of their nice comfy crater... Hurrrr !!! They are surrounded by lots of Crushers and Kairos. Kairos spawns the Space Wolf with a power fist. The daemon prince beside the venerable charges it, immobilizing it and blowing off it's gun arm and takes no wounds in return. The other lash prince and one pack of Crushers charge the Space Wolves killing all the Grey ahunters but the Wolfguard battle leader passes all of his stormshield saves and does a couple of wounds to the Crushers... The WGBL will become a very stubborn tarpit for the daemons.

Turn three the thunderfire cannon shoots the little nurglings and kills one base. The predator again shoots at a Nurghal rhino and blows off it's combi bolter. They still have one emptu rhino left from the dead lame Hunters and another full of Blood Claws. White Devil and I both figure they try to use their rhinos to contest our objectives. The Blood Claws disembark and fire their pistols into the Fateweaver who loses a wound and decides to pack it up for the day... that was a real hoot! The WGBL again passes every stormshield save and kills the wounded lash prince while the remaining lash prince destroys the SW venerable dreadnaught in close combat.

Our turn the Nurghal daemons lead by the Tally Man move into the building to assault the techmarine. The remaining lash prince flies over beside the predator while the second pack of crushers line up to charge the Blood Claws. Our Nurghal Marines in the building drop back beside our primary objective and destroy one of the empty rhinos. Another mounted unit of Nurghal Marines pull up to our secondary objective and destroy the other empty rhino... Nothing quite like systematically destroying the opponent's army ! The Tally Man drops the techmarine with the rott and the lash prince destroys the predator. The Crushers destroy all of the Blood Claws but yet again the WGBL passes all his stormshield saves and does another three wounds to the first pack of Crushers... there are only two Crushers left in that unit... amazing.

We play out two more turns but can only do one wound to the WGBL who finishes off the first pack of Crushers !!! Space Wolf heroes can certainly be quite heroic.

So we win the third mission and take best overall. It was certainly a great day of gaming at a very cool store.

Nice reports.

Your lists are quite horrible when working together; combining SMC icons for daemons and PM + epi makes a very strong list.

It's pretty funny... the one game when the tally went high enough to do something the opponent killed Epi just before we got to swing back in close combat. The Nurghal Marines are hard as brass tacks without any juice from the Tally Man.
