Here is another. This is the Cannoness for my Sisters army. Let me know what you think. I was going to do some WIPs of this, but I got into painting her and did not want to stop to take the pics. All she is lacking is a bit of clean up here and there.

And a close up of the face..

I like it, especially the small details you took the time to fill in. I take it those are scars on her face?

Very nice I like it.

The 'fur?' thing behind her head looks a little odd, but maybe that's just me.

That is indeed a scar on her face, it did not come out in the pic as well as I had hoped. I am still trying to get a hand on the whole pic thing.

Buttons Should Be Brass, Not Gold!

Looks great. Face in particular is fantastic - Minor nitpicks:

1. Hair could have done with a light wash to separate add definition between the bangs and the forehead.

2. Fire is backwards. Hottest in the middle, the edges should be darker. This is -really- minor, as the torches look great.

Finish the base! Overall a very nice piece. I can't stop looking at the face. I might have to buy one of these for myself.

There is something that I don't like about this model. I think your choice of colours is great and the face is beautifully done. The rest of it though looks kind of ... clumpy... I don't know, I can't put my finger on what exactly I don't like. It might just be the model.

Do you thin your paints down. I'm getting the clumpy thing from the gun and from her breasts. Also I don't thingk the gun should be white but that's a personal preference, I like colour on weapons.

That is an excellent paint job. How did you do the face? I love the way it looks, any tips you could give on color composition/techniques?

I can't believe I did not catch the miss on the forehead where it meets the hair. I will fix that. As for the fire, I did not even think about the hottest being in them middle. Fairly happy with the torches though so I will probably leave them.

I do thin my paints, it is possible the feel is coming from the pic. As I said I am still getting a feel for my pics and getting the right look. There is a difference of how the white looks in RL then in the pic. It could also be that this is not final and cleaned up completely and some of the shapes look blocky. I will post more pics when I get that done and see what you think.

The face is fairly simple and I wanted a fairly pale looking face. I base coated with VMC Basic Skin tone. I took some VMC Salmon and coated the lips and VMC Red (cant remember the actual color name off hand) and hit the inside of the mouth. From there I washed the entire face/mouth with GW Orge Flesh. I then came back and covered a majority of the surface with the Basic Skin tone, and followed it with successive thin highlights with a VMC pinkish skin tone (at work now and can't remember for the life of me the color name, but it is similar to Pallid Flesh). I then painted the scar with the salmon, and highlighted it with the pinkish skin tone.

As for the eye, I did used what is pretty much my standard. I fill the majority of the eye socket with black. I then draw a white horizontal line across the eye, thickening it in the middle. Afterward I draw a black line down the middle and thicken it in the middle if it looks a bit catish. At the end I draw a arching line over and under the eye to narrow it a bit, then clean up around the edge with the basic skintone again.

When I get home I will check the colors to give you a better idea what I am using.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Ok here is an updated pic. I cleaned up some of the rougher places. I also placed a thin wash under the hair on the forehead to help cut that out.

Let me know what you think.
