Nasty Nob on a Boar

Well, I've been kicking this around a bit and thought I'd post the rules and such here.
Any feedback is much appreciated. We've been using regular sized playing cards as the "Units".
Thanks!
Elements March
Lf, Skr, Cav, Art Value 4-8 squares
Rank Value Unit Points
Common, Uncommon, Rare Value 1-3
Grit Factor
# -1 if flanked for each flank, 0 if surrounded
Attrition
Value 1-12, when reaches 0, unit falls back March value +d6 each movement turn and is
effectively beaten.
Morale
Any unit that has an equal or less Grit Factor and is within 6" of the falling
back unit rolls d6. If the die roll is equal or less than the units current Grit Factor, the unit keeps
fighting. If the die roll is over the units current Grit Factor, the unit starts to fall back, but may test
each Round, or stops when they are engaged. You can not engage a beaten unit.
Engaged units who fail their test, suffer a -1 to their Grit Factor as long
as they are within 6" of the beaten unit.
Game Play
Round based, with alternating turns
Round consists of each unit (yours and opponent) making 1 movement, attacking, and
psychological turn
Turn consists of 1 unit making move. Players cannot have more than 2 turns in a row.
Players use 54 card deck consisting of 25 black, 25 red, and 4 Psyche cards.
Psyche Effects - only one psyche effect per unit per round.
Inspired Fearsome
Unit does not suffer loss of attrition this round. Unit can not be attacked this round. Disengages.
2nd Wind Battlefield Wits
Unit gain back half remaining Attrition, up to General's range for effects is doubled this round.
original amount.
Rule of Three
Must have 3 lower ranks before able to take next level of troop
Rank & File
Unit gets one Free 90* move during movement phase
Skirmishers
Can only be included as a 4th unit to current rank and does not count towards Rule of Three.
Cover negates Skirmishers attacks. If Skirmishers fall back, they are removed from the board.
Combat Power
d6 + number. Both players roll and compare scores. If the Defender wins or ties, the
damage is deflected/defened. If the Attacker wins, the difference in the die rolls is the
amount of attrition removed from the defenders unit. Ties go to the Defender.
Characters
Characters can move anywhere on the board once each round. Choose carefully!

It's kind of hard to decipher. It seems more like notes or a draft outline than an explanation.

Is there a way to import a document into the text? It would be easier to read/understand if I could as it's currently sitting as an excel spreadsheet.

So how are you going to go about publishing this if you were to perfect this system?

Well, we have a local gaming group that includes a history teacher and a writer. This idea stemmed from basically trying to have a hands on tool for kids to get familiar with historical battles and coincided with the release of the movie 300 (hence 7 years since my last post on this subject). We have left this on the vine since then but I wanted to throw it back out there to see if there was some interest.
