Right at 2000, fully mechanized.

Basic Idea: Make all of your opponents' non-anti-tank weapons useless. First turn annihilate all their ranged anti-tank. After the ranged is taken out move into the open where your tanks can open up on any infantry that try to test the mettle of your armor. During this, create pathways for the troops to grab objectives and/or just stay alive.

Has worked brilliantly against shooting armies in playtests. Only problem is with the assaulty armies. Though, in previous games with my fully meched IG/Inquisiton games even assaulty armies faulter against the amount of armor early in the game.

Constructive Critisizm is welcome.

Why are you mixing plasma and melta in your vet squads? Seems like you would be better off just going with melta.

Is there a reason you are mixing the basiliks in with the medusa's?

Also since you have a lot of big armor. If you buy camo-netting for your artillery and park them right behind the leman russ's, they will get a 2+ cover save from shots to the front.

It seems like you are going to be a bit vulnerable to outflanking, deep striking, getting an officer of the fleet in there to delay them would help.

Are the vets going to stay sitting in the chimera's until the enemy gets close? If so then maybe add an auto-cannon to each squad, and a heavy stubber to your chimera's to give you some more long range shots. Maybe do the same thing to the command squad.

If you dropped the 2 basilisks and turned your arty squad into two medusa's, removed some hull lascannons, and dropped plasma down to melta, you could probably free up some points.

Do you mean that there are only 7 KPs in that list? Looks like a lot more than that to me. Closer to 16 i think.

16 KP's.

Don't mix and match specials, go all one type.

Other that that, this army is nasty. Fast assault armies will be your nemesis though I think as tanks get pwnd so badly in assault.

It will be a game of either the other guy has the tools to stop the tanks or not, probably end up really one sided either way. But, it would look pretty fantastic! The deployment zone will be filled.

16? Why are you counting each tank as a killpoint? The squadrons would be one KP each...

From my understanding, each tank squad, because they are a unit, is a killpoint and there is 11, I initially did not count the chimeras. Made the change in the post

The reason behind mixing specials is because 1.) plasma are 5 pts more 2.) I'd like a couple more shots against the guys that are assaulting my tanks but not losing anti-tank punch, it makes them more versatile in an army that is clearly not.

I guess not mixing them could make them more effective at what the weapon should do but having the one plasma makes more shots at the peeps that survive the initial bombardment.

The reason I put the Medusa in there is because it makes the squad more versatile. I'm toying around with the idea of making one LR squad with 2 LRMBTs and 1 Demolisher and another with 1 of each. Again, to make them more versatile and being able to split up the ap2 shots.

Anyways...
Armies that will most likely beat this list:
Orks (horde)
Tyranid (any)
Eldar (maybe, if they point to beat me. prolly not in tourny)

Discuss.

Wow, that brings a whole new level of pain to squadrons....they are only 1 kill point. Wow.

Sorry about that, the rules clearly state that a squadron is a unit. You get a kill point for destroying 1 unit. Wow.

Wow.

Yes wow, and you are welcome for letting that jaw detach to the floor.

Though, immobilized counts as destroyed in squads =/

Yeah, that means guard are now KP awesome.

That is nuts. Sure it stinks about immobilized, but now the whole squadron gets extra armor for free.

The immobilization thing stops applying when there's only one left as well.

More than a fair trade in my opinion. Give a two tank Russ squad in a building cam cloaks and you have a 3+ cover save too.

Nutso.

The combos coming out of this book look crazy on paper, I can't wait to play test some of this stuff.
