You are Alex Mercer, a highly evolved shape shifting being unsure of his past or acquiring of powers, in an ever-changing city of New York that is under attack from a unique strain of virus that has begun mutating it's inhabitants. Alex can run extremely fast, jump incredible heights and possesses great strength, this combined with his ability to mutate body parts into weapons or armour and transform into any person he 'consumes' makes him the deadliest weapon in the city.
As our anti-hero defeats enemies he can absorb or 'consume' them into himself to gain their biomass, grow new weapons, assume their figure or acquire their memories. The goal of the game is to consume the numerous figures that possess knowledge on your past whilst avoiding infected citizens, the army and a unique branch of military that specialize against genetic warfare.
Scheduled to be released around early June for the PC, 360 and PS3 this game is definitely worth it.

It looks ace. I heard a lot about this game ages ago, but then it dropped off the rader. Looks like the offspring of GTA and The Darkness. Glad it's back up and running again, I need a new game to get excited about since Aliens: Colonial Marines has been delayed indefinately .
I'm carefull with my enthusiasm. This looks like one of these games which won't be able to live up to the hype. Not unlike Assassin's Creed.
I'll probably have to get this from somewhere else, because I can guarantee you, this game won't reach the German market without some serious cutting.....
I've been looking forward to this game since it was a foot note in some gaming magazine...
Seeing some of the game play footage makes it seem a little less than what i expected, but I still plan on purchasing and enjoying this game once it comes out.
Mind you Hellboy it might be slightly over-hyped but it would still be much better than Assassins Creed or Infamous. I mean this game has a great deal more features than either put together, even if it isn't perfect it's still worth a playthrough.
yep i have seen alot of gameplay-movies of prototype and im really excited but first i need to upgrade my pc and read some reviews but it looks promosing
I'd think it looks cool, but would rather read the comics. Yes, thats right. Video games have now taken over comics. Gears Of War April Issue anyone?
Btw, I have read the first Prototype comic. It contains , among other things, gratitous amounts of violence, racial slurs, curses, and some pretty good artwork.
I think its a tough choice between this and InFamous, It seems like InFamous will be a bit more involved and polished but comparing the gameplay videos i've seen Prototype looks alot more fun
