Any mob you want to have a nob in should have a boss pole. For 5pts its a steal. It really can make the difference between winning a game and losing one.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Always give the nob a bosspole, it can make the difference between having the game end with the opponents objective contested, and having your mob run and give them the objective.

I have recently stopped taking a boss pole with some of my mobz and haven't noticed a difference. Chances are If I lose a combat I lose by some ridiculous number and rolling twice does not help me out if I have to roll a three, then I get routed (yey I2) and it doesn't matter. Shooting casualties are a risk, but not a huge one- I rarely find myself testing for 25% casualties- only once in my last 10 games have I had a unit flee.

It can also depend on the mob in question. With trukk Boyz or any other ork mob of 10-15 the bosspole becomes a much higher quality item then with a maxed mob of 30.

If, for some reason, you were tight enough on points to not want a bosspole I'd only drop it from very large mobs. After all, by the time they need to start making Ld checks they're usually dead anyway. Still, I think the relative cost of the pole to the gain that is possible in not having a mob break is really quite worth it.

Foe me personally - if I have a nob in the mob, then there is a bosspole upon his back.

The Orks have the mob rule.
So if I have 11 or more orks in a mob they are fearless
with 30 boyz in a mob I need bosspole?

For me Bosspole is one of this things (with Klaw being the second one) that is a part of every Nob leading a mob, no matter how big the mob is. This is 5 points which can be the most important. Sure in most cases there will be no need for Bosspole, but fot this few one that means win or lose having or not Bosspole it is worth to have it. IMO.

well your getting to the end of a game you squad of 30 has become 11 they're holding an objective if they can sit there you win the game ... they take 4 wounds from shooting and fail the test ... don't you wish you'd taken a bosspole now?

At the end of the game do you really think that mob of 30 boyz will still have 30 boyz in it? I wouldn't count on that and once the unit gets blose to gone, the rerolls from the bosspole can make a massive difference.

For 5 points, it is an absolute steal and almost every other race in the gmae would love to have the same option.

You have more than one reroll in a turn with the bosspole?

Not quite what he was asking.

Yes you can use your bosspole reroll multiple times in a turn. You can use it in the movement phase to reroll a failed regroup test, then you can use it in the shooting phase for a failed pinning check, then you can use it in the assault phase for a failed morale check.

What you CAN'T do is use the bosspole after the reroll. You only get one reroll per leadership test, but you can reroll multiple leadership tests during your turn.

Hope that made sense.

@Arander ... ok i would have though it was clear that you only rerolled once on each failed moral check

... but you should note that Pinning isn't a moral check its a leader ship check so no re-rolls

Ah well in that case my mistake. I so rarely take pinning checks with my orks I just assumed it would work there as wel

The only question I have would be is it really worth it for the reroll at a lower ld? b/c you problly just killed one of your boyz to get that reroll?

It just inflicts a wound so you are allowed a save. I always take a BP on boyz squads becuase they are in trukks. When I do run footsloggers I still take the BP because i have found that my orks die easily and if they are just sitting on an objective they can get shot off it like everything else.

The only thing I wouldn't suggest is taking bosspole's on every nob in a nob squad. You only get 1 reroll and well if you only give half bosspoles then your half way to making the unit all individual units for wounds alocation.

Ork ld is 7 so you shouldn't be using anything less than that unless you want them to run for some reason.
