Anyone else see the Mark II version of warmachine not as much fun as before. At my local Gaming store they have started a league for Mark II and it has brought some players out who have not played in a while that like the rest of us are using the test rules. It just seems that here anyway the enphisis in on winning rather than testing the new rules.

For me this has caused a lack of interest and a lowe fun level.

I haven't found anything in the rules per se that makes the game seem less fun, but I have missed the variety of being able to play against Hordes factions during this trial. It may be more about how your local area is treating the game, as the rules themselves haven't done much that could make it less fun. (with a few exceptions related to particular models)

I deeply dislike the new min-max unit sizes (mostly from a having to bulk out units perspective) and a couple of the newer units being stripped of flavour, but I like the new massed Warjacks and some old favorites coming back from the shelf (Necro surgeon, Satyxis Raiders), the removeal of the 750/500 gap for Epics and the much improved rules interaction such as there only being one Arc-Node rule not four or more..

Overall I like the changes, I just wish they'd breathe some theme into some of the nerfed units.

Why would you give away "brand name" goods and then expect them to sell the same "brand name" goods later?

Thats really poor marketing strategy.

Give away a "No Frills" version of the goods first then sell the "brand name" version of the goods later.

There is a ton of people crying about nerfed units but really when a game has been rebuilt from the ground up, your old units never existed in this new game universe. Embrace the change or live in the past.

Hey Warrior50 I thought the point of the game was to try and win? and thereby create the fun through the struggle? It sounds like you are confusing gaming with "unfun" people than the game being the cause of the problem.

It could also just be the newness of it. Everyone's trying to open up the throttle and see what the new baby can do, which is fun in a way, but not the same as cruisin' with your buddies...

I haven't played yet (sad panda=me) but I'm excited to try different things out.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

The sink.

I really dislike the removal of rules for certain newer units. Particularly the bloodgorgers, gerlak, and cephalyx overlords. If they add some color to these units I'll be happy.

Played one game of Mk2 and it seemed to be more fun than the old game. I really liked the changed which made the game go faster and the while some of the models lost flavor with stripping of special rules, I think it has made the game better as it now plays faster.

What is obvious is that some of the Legends and Metamorphosis figs are not balanced, but have been given over the top rules to sell the figs. I expect them to be nerfed seriously to get them in line with the rest of the figs.

Havent played it yet, but looking over the cards things look blander. Jacks especially as the Seether and DeathJack don't freak out if they aren't cared for, the Avatar can't remove wreck counters etc. At the same time they seem much more effective. I think the trick to MkII will be getting as many jacks on the table as possible and then giving them all focus, I'm thinking Cryx and Menoth will get a boost in this regard due to the amount of tricks they have to gain extra focus (souls mainly)

I just don't want the game to shift completley into Jackmachine, I want to play jackfintrymachine.
