My local Games Workshop is holding a Tournament soon and I'm thinking of entering my Grey Knights, the only prob is I don't have enough points without giving everything wargear, so they've allowed me, and my Land Raider. So here it is:

I would like to know what you all think, and if there is anything I've missed.

READ YOUR CODEX

The termies cannot have a targeter.
The vindicare cannot have stuff from the armoury.
The Grey Knights cant have a rhino.
The stormtroopers cant have 3 special wepaons.
All upgrades on the stormtrooper sarge are useless
Your dreadnought has no weapons and cant have a targeter.


You need to drop most of the upgrades and spliy up the IST.

GW allowed this because I don't have the points anyway. So they said I can put wargear on whatever I like and have everything with anything!!!!!!
I admit I forgot about the Dreadnought, it's got a TL Lascannon and a Missile Launcher. I'll drop 2 ST's and a GKT.

I'm honestly surprised they'll let you totally trash codex rules sooner than they'll allow you to just proxy models that play by codex rules and fill in those points.

Why are you turning to a forum for advice when your opening sentence is "I know this is completely illegal but they're letting me do it, so I have this list that every model I own has every bit of wargear it's not supposed to have."

If you own more than this, you're better off with more proper models. If you don't own more than this, and cannot buy/paint/whatever them in time for the tourney, why bother asking?

Why not just use your Necrons? As it is now, this list willbe trashed by a hard glare.

Also, you can't put the points for individual upgrades up, it violates GW's copywrite.

Why does your sig say "The Grey Knights- 1500pts Tournament Army + a Carnifex "? You aren't really putting a Carnifex in this, are you?

And you must have an Inquisitor to have an Assassin

Put psycannon bolt on your vidicare, since they let you do that. With this you will have a shot that ignore all save.

To make up some points and drop ridiculous gear: Add psycannons instead of incinerators. And just add psycannons in general.

But as Valkyrie said, no Assassin without an Inquisitor.

I'd give the vindicare a couple of hunter-killer missiles

Also, mount the Grey Knights in wave serpents instead.

Your Land Raider needs an inquisitorial mandate.

On a semi-serious note just toss out any human looking model and be like boom inquisitor and then just load him up with wargear. Simple as that.

Psycannon Bolts is only allowed on bolt weapons. I'm trying to stay to the rules as best as pos. I don't have psycannons but I may be getting an Inquisitor. And it says Carnifex because I randomly have one Carnifex

I'll tell you this, if you dont have the models to play in a tournement....you shouldnt play in the tournement. Simple. It's not fair to impose a list such as this on your potential opponents. They wont know whats going on, and there will certainly be complaints.

That being said I think you should drop the vindicare assassin, scrounge ten more points and put two HK missles on every terminator.....WTF.

It's in a Games Workshop. No-one will know what is going on anyway.

Why not just take an Orbital strike? And make one of the guardsmen an Inquisitor so you can legally have the assassin? And give the Dread some guns? Looks to me like you can easily make the points.

So why are you asking our opinion? Just go to town as you have on pointless wargear. I wopuld add some allied guard though for some long range anti tank firepower.

I got the Inqquistitor, it can be an Inquisitor Lord as well. I just used a stormtrooper as somebody suggested.

Why don't you use your Necrons? You have 2700 points of them.

Secondly, a Land Raider Ares? Did they say you could use an Apocalypse unit? 'Cause your opponents are not gonna be happy about that.

Also, remove the individual point costs from upgrades.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the Grand Masters retinue of terminators use up a HQ slot on the FOC?
If that is the case take the elite inq instead.

Agreed. I'd have a fit if I saw this army across the board from me in a tourney. In fact, I would not play at that store/event again. While I understand why the OP is fielding this monstrosity, that doesn't make it acceptable. Don't be TFG, just don't play, or figure out how to 'count as' some stuff as other stuff to have a legal list. Seriously, I'd rather the LR Ares 'count as' a Land Raider. What's to stop the IG player from bringing a Baneblade just to fill out his army?

Here is a thought, why don't you actually talk to some people at the store and see if you can borrow some stuff like extra land raiders...you know so you can actaully take a legal, codex based force instead of the crap you are spewing atm.

Do a search on these very forums for the Daemonhunter list Deadshane1 used in a tourny not to long ago. It should give you something to go off of.

Some other people are having baneblades, there's even the possibility of someone using a Stompa!! And I've seen Deadshane's, I'd rather add some more different models than his.

I'm still confused. Why not take your Necrons?

I can't take my Necrons because they want one person with each differnet army, and somebody has already taken Necrons, and nobody else plays Daemonhunters.

We have just completed the tournament, I came second behind Witchhunters, then 3rd was necrons, with chaos daemons coming last, just behind orks.
