Hi , i read that with simple green and other paint stripper, the paint should fall off by itself.

Does the paint turn into VERY sticky goo?

Because while it did some what peel off, the goo is sticking onto my tooth brushes and its
inredibly hard to get rid of.

Run it under water while you're taking the toothbrush to it. If the paint is on their very thick you might need to put it back in the simple green for a little longer.

Doesnt the sticky goo cause problems down the sink?

Like clogging it up later?

Also, if you find that your toothbrush is getting very "used". You can always use an acrylic brush cleaner to help get any cleaning remnants off the brush. But like Artyboy stated, running under water, and possibly applying a second soak with Simple Green can fix the problem you are having.

It possibly could, I guess. I haven't run into paint clogging any drain. But Draino is your friend if it does.

I don't know about clogging my drain, I tend to do my paint stripping in tubs and wipe out the goop with kitchen towels. I usually try and clean it off of brushes/my tubs with dish soap, however.

Acrylics are water based so you shouldn't have any problem with clogging. I never have.

And I hope that you are wearing gloves while using Pine Sol... please tell me you are...

The gooey stuff is just the reaction of the pinesol to the color paint (I think red is a popular one for getting gooey).

I find that if you put some dish soap on your scrubbing brush, the gooey stuff gets washed off with continued scrubbing.

Simple Green is usually found in supermarkets, Targets, Walmarts, etc. in the States. Not sure about Canada.

Oh, and DON'T use Pine Sol on plastics... very bad

No i wasnt using glove , i rinsed the pinesol off the mini before i start scrubbing though.

I'll try the dish soap ( does laundry detergent count? ) I tried supermarket but no luck.

If its liquid laundry detergent, should be ok (never used it though). I've used liquid hand soap, and liquid dish detergent.

Be careful with the Pine Sol, even if you wash the mini off, its likely you'll get it on your hands, and its fairly caustic. I did that once, my hands did not look good for a couple days.

Definately get some gloves (heavy duty kitchen cleaning gloves). I find the thinner stuff tears if the minis have sharp points.

I have heard that break fluid works well for removing paint with out damaging the model

I use the SuperClean/SimpleGreen method and use a electric toothbrush and then an extra stiff cheapo toothbrush. I can never get ALL of the paint off but only the tiniest nooks and crannies are usually missed. Leaving the models in the "bath" for like a week helps alot, but overnight will work most of the time. I run the water down the tub and no clogs yet. WEAR GLOVES!

EDIT: I forgot to say, I usually run my sink in the kitchen really hot, the drop some dishsoap in it and clog the drain up. After I scrub my models and run water and scrub em again, I drop them in the sink soapy bath and whoosh em around to get the Superclean residue off. Then I rinse em thoroughly in cold water and let em air dry before I glue and prime.

I bought a rather large pre-diluted bottle of simple green at a dollar store for $2.00

It's been about 24 hours and most of the paint has come off. It seems as though the GW foundation paints do not want to, though.
Gonna leave them in for another 24 hours.
