Just talking to a friend with a GW account, and he said on the 4th of May GW is shuffling all the sales reps around. He is new, so my question is, do they do this often?

Like I told him, I have seen GW do a lot of things, and this is the first time I have thrown my arms up in the air and said "ok, that is stupid." This is why Circuit City went out of business. They fired everyone and broke all their customer to employee bonds. No one is getting fired here but why would you intentionally break those bonds and cause another period of "getting to know you" time for every person with an account. It makes no sense from a sales perspective.

If its anything like the GW I worked at, I know the amount of employee discount that was used would increase every month instead of decreasing.

If everything was on the up and up it should have a reverse trend.

I know I for one hooked a couple friends up.

I remember 3 individuals who were sacked for selling army box deals for 1 dollar (99% discount).. What was odd was when I was called and asked why I just bought 5 army deals.. It appears that some staff (we all knew the others discount code, cause we had to use it to sell each other product) had been selling to their friends using my code..

the next thing I know (i've worked with the company for about 5months at that point) I'm asked why i've purchased over 2k worth of product.. So, yeah, that crap used to happen all the time..

You'd think they'd use a staff card (credit card type thing) that would have to be run through when the product is rung up.

I am talking about sales reps that talk to people with GW accounts.

One of the Reps just got promoted, they probably want their most experienced reps handling certain regions, hence the shuffle.

Ah, ok. Well, 'the good ol' boys club' used to be the whole of the sales rep/regional managers.. Not sure about that anymore.

Could be, I know nothing of the politics of GWs. I have never officially met a red shirt for that matter :O

GW staff are always on the move. Staff looking for promotions are encouraged to work in all areas of the company - sales manager, direct sales staff, HQ, .... They probably just needed to re-balance the case load.

I certainly hope not. I applied for the vacancy! Wish me luck!
