Ok so to all of you, I am completely aware of the rules regarding psykers and templars. -BUT- I am assuming that this rule affects the list itself and is geared towards things like inquisitors and the like, things that are within the army list itself. In apocalypse we can take them (psukers) because of FOC laxation etc etc.
In a team tournament because you and your opponent take separate lists, what is -your- thought on Templars going with an eldar army that included a farseer?

On a note, we are not going because we want to win on sportsmanship. My friend and I just want to prove a point about the ridiculous things that some armies can do sometimes, and the "broken ness" of some combos. Namely, combining "doom" and Accept any challenge no matter the Odds. Re rolls to hit, re rolls to wound = very bad day for the target unit.

Fluffwise this does work, Eldar fight alongside the Imperium all the time. We are thinking of this just to have a laugh at how nasty this can be and we are not looking for best themed army or anything.

So go forth, break this down and see the awesome things that doubles tourneys can forge! (One Ring to Rule them all)

Cheers!

As with any tournament question, it really boils down to the tournament rules themselves. You need to contact the tournament organizer and ask them. For example, GW's double's tournament allowed any and all pairings, so this would likely be allowed despite the fluff. Adepticon's team tournament has a lot more restrictions so this kind of thing may not be allowed.

The only person who can answer this question for sure is the tournament organizer of the tournament you're planning on attending.

And BTW, if you haven't heard, there are going to be no GW Grand Tournaments this year.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
