I think this should be an easy question:

Faithful units generate Faith Points when purchased for the army.

My question is whether the Celestian unit, purchased as a retinue for a Heroine, generates Faith Points?

The rules under Celestians list them as Faithful, thus generating the points. Under the HQ, it says that a unit of Celestians, chosen from the Elites section, may be purchased to act as a retinue.

So, a Canoness with Celestian Retinue: 2 Faith Points, or 3 Faith Points?

Thanks in advance!

Oh, and one other. I assume that if these units are allied to a DH army, I can use those Faith Points on Faithful units, correct?

I can't say for sure about the celestians but I would say that they generate 3 with a Cannoness. However in regards to using faith with allied units, as per the rules for faith outlined in the codex only Faithful Adeptus Sororitas units may use faith points. AKA no joining a Cannoness to a guard squad and giving them a 5+ invul.

Celestians' rules say they generate a faith point, therefore they generate a faith point when taken as a bodyguard. In addition to the Cannoness that would make 3.

Yes, I believe its mentioned in the WH FAQ on GW's site.

Yes, a Celestian retinue does generate a faith point on their own, and if the retinue is destroyed will martyr for another faith point regardless as to whether or not the Heroine is still alive.

Yup, its 3 Faith Points, and only Faithful units can use Faith Points.
