After checking out what guardsman marbo is capable of i just had to do some conversions. I had the model from back in 3rd ed days, I had decided to use him as a sgt with power weapon and bolt pistol so he was already painted before I made my new additions. I should have it all painted pretty soon.



I can't stress how stoked I am about vets being troops. I've already got about 8 of'm with shotguns painted and based but I picked up a fresh box. A buddy was nice enough to part with some plasmaguns and I can't believe how perfectly they fit the scout models, I added a scope and a light to them to make them look a little more unique. I also converted gunnery sgt harker, as with marbo, he's got the cadian twist to him. I really didn't want to model him as a catachan. I'm stoked that he can move and shoot his heavy bolter.



And finally the armored sentinels, converterd from at-43 kolossus squads. I left the missile launchers on because I want a little bit of flexibility, I figuer they could be hunter killer upgrades. I did 3 with lascannons for tank hunting and 3 with heavy flamers for infantry roasting.

The painting is okey. The vet conversions are quite inspirational.

But please go and purge those mold lines. Now.

Which mold lines? I can see some one marbo but which others?

there are some on the smoke launchers

maybe you can mod up the killa kans/sentinels whatever things a bit more? as of now they look like you just stuck a weapon to them.

I think they look that way because the model comes already painted so whatever has been added is sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm almost done painting them, should have some pix up soon.

I love those AT-43 Kolossi miniatures - in my case, I'm turning them into Killa Kans.

As for me I love your Cadian Marbo, It makes me put even more consideration into having one in my army
The At-43's In my opinion could use some more eagle emblems.

I tried giving the squad leaders eagle emblems but the damn things are so curvy they never fit right. I had to go the decal route.

The only downside to marbo is he's seen a few layers of paint over the years so the detail on some parts is pretty terrible. I gave him the backpack/demo charge and changed his sword and gun up a bit.



Got the vets done, there may be some out of place flock, realized when I was workin on the pix I didn't blow on them to get the flock off. I like how my cadian style sgt harker came out.



And finally the at-43 converted sentinels. I'm really happy with how they came out, I'm even happier not having to drop 200$ to get 6 sentinels.









Added some other vehicles to show how well they blend with my army.

Any feedback on the paint jobs?

I like it. Nice and basic like the Guard should be, and the Kolossus work well here.

The stormtroopers turned out excellent! The heavy bolter operator with the shades just looks completely badass. Btw Anyone else notice how much the AT43's resemble the mech suits from metal slug?

yeah I like the sentinal things , and there nice and cost effective . I commented on how I like your speed in which you pump out table top ready models .

With that pace you can basicly field any guard army ou feel like since its such a large force and they would score well at tournys .

I really like this army.

It's the actual marbo model, just changed one of the arms and added shoulder pads and a few other things.

Well the sad truth is I've had way too much time on my hands lately. After I grab a valkyrie I'm gonna have to slow down for a while.

Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the chubby AT-43 Sentinels, and you did a good job painting them, it's just that I prefer the normal flamingo-legged Sentinels. (Even if they are plagiarized from Star Wars. Lol.)

The converted Vets are awesome though, especially the Sgt Harker. Good job!

As for Marbo, he's okay. I never really liked the Marbo sculpt that much. Maybe it was just the name. The Catachans are Rambo-clone-y enough, but a guy whose last name is an acronym for Rambo and whose first name is Sylvester Stallone's nickname? That's called "trying too hard", GW.

These are pretty good, all in all. I like the Russ, too.

I'm with you when it comes to sentinels. I still intend on getting a few of the new ones but I just find them so expensive for what you get. I can't play at gw with the at43 ones anyway.

The marbo sculpt was pretty bad and when you add the existing coat of paint it ruined it ever more. I just love the new rules for him though.

Your photos are the only ones i ever seen where the shadows are SO DARK yet the rest of mini is so bright.

Is it like self adjusting to the pigments it can see? i always notice 2 things:
Green turns very florescent , flesh turns very red ish.

either way makes incredible contrasts.

I view them as red dot scopes. They don't really magnify, they just have a red dot or crosshair. I've got something similar for my airsoft guns.

Im not familiar with photography , what does post mean? and can you take some pics of the circular white reflector next time?
and saturation is option on camera?

Any chance you'll add some camo back to the sentinels? i miss seeing camo on them :x ( love the flamers btw)

post is short for post production (after shooting it). It's a classy way of saying edited in photoshop. It's basically a giant white disk, on one side it's white and the other it's silver. The saturation is an option on the camera but you can alter it in photoshop too. Being able to shoot in raw format helps.

I for one have always been a fan of the gangly legged sentinels, they seem to give off a faster feel than all the other types of models there are out there for that type of thing. but u've painted them nicely and they fit in well =)

the cadian vets look awesome too.

Been working on some special characters. I'm not a big fan of paying like 35$ for creed and kell (I don't even like kell) so I made my own creed. Also did a "cadianish" version if iron hand straken and I used an old metal tank commander as pask. I also painted marbo's blade so it looks metallic instead of like a power weapon.



I'm still on the fence about how useful pask is, but I really dig the idea.

Gave a little more tlc to my enginseer and servitors, still might add a little more detail to the multimelta dude.



Added some more detail to the chimera's. I got a feeling they'll be seeing a lot more playtime with the new codex.
