Do Daemon Engines belong specifically in Chaos Marine armies or can they also be in a Chaos Daemon army without violating fluff. I want to make some daemons but I want a place for daemon engines too.

You shouldn't have any problems using any of the daemonic engine models with your chaos daemons. Just about anything goes in apocalypse. Things like the brass scorpion aren't run by CSM but are ran on daemonic power alone. That alone should be more then enough fluff to add it to your Chaos Daemon army.
