Subject: DH vs WH Inquisitor

Hey all, just had a tactic question. I'm still relatively new, putting together a SoB army. I've read plenty on how to best use them and such. That said, I'd like to play around from the standard mold a little bit. From all that I've seen and read the WH Inquisitor really bites. However from my understanding, the DH Inq does not. If this is the case, why not just ally in a DH Inq Lord (assuming you already have a Cannoness as your first HQ choice) or a DH Inq? The main reason I'd like to include an Inquisitor is to have access to assassins and just to spice things up a bit.
Just wondering if there are people that do this or not. The codex does not really explain how to ally DH like it does for SM and IG, but from my understanding it can be done so long as you have your HQ and 2 Troops from your main list. Not having read the DH Codex, what makes their Inq better exactly? Different retinue, different abilities?

The rules for allying Demonhunters to your Witch Hunter army is located in the Demonhunter Codex. They are, however, exactly like the allies rules in your WH codex.
DH Inquisitors have access to Mystic henchen which is a counter to armies that need to Deep Strike near you. I ally a DH Inquisitor to my WH army for just that reason.
You should go out and purchase the DH codex so you'll have all the rules on hand.

I have played the DH for the last 3 years and if you want a mow-everything-down type unit then this is it. His best use is to assemble a heavy weapon gun-line similar in firepower to a Devistator Squad. The Inq can take a psycannon and he can also take 3 henchmen with 2x heavy bolters and 1x plasmacannon for maximum lethality. To make the most of the squad though I would add a couple Sages, Mystics, and Acolytes. Sages up your Inq BS +1 (the second lets you reroll 1 miss), the Mystics help to take extra shots a deepstrikers, and the Acolytes are wound soaks (they can be given Artificer Armour as well which is very nasty indeed then).
The WH Inq is really best suited to assaults whent the Churigeon and Crusaders are added to a couple combat servitors.
So if you like to dish out a lot of shooting or are afraid of deepstrikers then take the DH Inq. If combat is your cup of tea then the WH Inq id the guy for you. Both are effective when used to their strengths.

Yes the DH one is better for reasons stated. However I find the WH Inq looks better.

I convert all of my Inquisitors because I don't care for any of standard ones, although the WH one with the hat and coat is a pretty nice sculpt.

How many points is the WH inquis. The DH one is 20pts without wargear, of which there is plenty.

For a DH Hq inquis. its 45 points if you have him as an elite he is 20.

I presumed he was talking about the INQUISITOR, NOT INQUISITOR LORD.
