Earlier this year we have heard bunch of rumor on Skavens as next fantasy army.

But now we see a bunch of new sculpted Empire items , does that mean they are next in line now?

No I think the new empire stuff was just the 2nd wave from the last release. I heard Skaven is next too

Not that Games Day Baltimore is really very useful for news, I'm hoping I get to see some new skaven stuff there in a couple weeks. As far as I know it's skaven, beasts, tomb kings in the pipeline. Which is great news, a) because I play or like all of them, and b) because they all need it!

Hopefully, we'll be seeing Warriors of Chaos wave 2, with lots of special character models and new Chaos Ogres. The current ones are unbelievably bad.

More like DE wave 2, at least you can convert OK bulls what am I supposed to do with ape fist Warriors, down syndrome Dark Riders and Harpies? That's 4 outta 5 core choices that need updates. Tell me what I'm supposed to do?!? Tell me!!!

Tomb Kings?

I'm not feeling it.

I would love to see a new Tomb King army book, but at the same time, not really because then they'd become FotM and I like it when people go "what, you get two shooting phases!?"

The next three releases for Fantasy battle are Skaven, Beasts of Chaos and an unknown new army, not in this order. There are vague rumours of Tomb Kings after these three, but they are largely based on certain items no longer being available in stores.

You can guarantee, 100%, that the Dark Elf second wave will not contain resculpted Warriors. Learn to live with it, or convert from something different, or use a different unit.

Correct.

There's a few-- somewhat odd*-- chaos releases as well with the Empire stuff.


* The Temple of Skulls and a few other bits and bobs. Nothing too exciting really.

Last I heard Tomb Kings were ... 2010 if not 2011. I am holding out myself to see if they make new Horses for them.

Skaven is definately coming out soon, or so people keep saying.

the current clan rat's detail is pretty bad ( night runners are really nice though )

But good thing is i can always use the current one as slaves when new one arrives!

i'm sorry but i just hate this. its tomb kings. khemri is the main city, but there are others. for instance i play an army based from quatar.

I'm of the persuasion that the 'new' army will be Chaos Dwarfs. Forge World has tons of sculpting plans for new Chaos Dwarfs, and nothing for Cathay. Sound odd? The rumor was it would be a Cathay/Nippon thing. But it's sounding more and more like Chaos Dwarfs.

What I would like to know, to solidly put me in the chaos dwarfs camp, have chaos dwarfs had a true army book yet? Or just a WD write up?

This is just a guess , but im thinking it wont be an actual Chaos Dwarfs army, more along: ( Yes it puzzles me why would they consider bringing back something that only appeals to small amount of customers)

When Beasts of Chaos came out, we were told that they were looking at a third Chaos army for fantasy alone, calling it "Machinations of Chaos". Looks like they decided on Daemons instead, and that's fine and dandy imo. Chaos Dwarves were okay, but they just didn't feel different enough from regular Dwarves.
