Hey guys, been thinking a lot about doing a new guard army, what with the codex looking so fly. I wanted (and still want) to do a veteran-based air cavalry force, but after i saw these http://www.thewarstore.com/product43048.html I decided I couldn't let myself miss out.

Does anyone have any kind of experience with these kits? They are multi-part and the sprues are viewable here http://www.wargamesfactory.com/AnnouncementRetrieve.aspx?ID=16056. My current plan is to order a few lots of Cadian lasgun sprues to build my squads, and do some conversions with heavy weapon teams and the like. However, if the arms aren't going to mesh well I'd rather know before I drop the cash for them. If that's the case then I'll use the included Martini-Henry bolt action rifles and model las tips for them, but I feel that detracts from the gothic feel, and I'm trying to get away from the "cartoony" Praetorians.

While I would encourage you to buy from Wargames Factory, these minis are, sadly, too small to receive lasguns. They're pretty nice minis, but they're on the small side of 28mm.

Anyway. I think Colonel Gravis is doing a resin Cadians to Praetorians conversion kit. His Praetorian army(in the P&M Blog area) is really nice too, btw. Check it out, maybe you'll find some inspiration.

Thanks for the timely replies, boys. I got paid today and was about 3 minutes away from buying 80 of the blighters. I've been following the work of the good Colonel for quite some time now, actually found an article on these guys on his blog. Well, time to explore alternatives I guess.

Yeah, they won't work for the same reason that you can't use Lord of the Rings minis in WHFB.

LotR (and historical miniatures) are realistic scale. Warhammer minis are heroic scale. Heroic scale means that the head, hands, and feet are sculpted bigger than they should be.
