Hey,

In 3 weeks i'm heading over to Florida for a two week holiday, to save me lugging models over with me to paint for a bit during my time there i was wondering if anyone knew any places close by to Clermont in Lake County, the house is just yards from the US 192 and US 27 intersection which sell GW stuff with the usual LGS % off.

Things such as the distance roughly, % off and what its like would be appreciated.

suggestions will reward you with hugs if their decent.

Florida pretty much has gak for gaming stores, Your best bets are driving to Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa. Each will be a long drive.

Orlando has Rhubarb Games (www.rhubarbgames.com), Sci-Fi City (http://www.sci-fi-city.com/orlando.htm), and a few other random little shops.

Jacksonville has Wardogs (http://www.sgtsniff.com/) and a few others that i can't remember at the moment.

Look forward to a long drive, and no discount unless your buying a ton of stuff.

Wardogs, Borderlands (probably the best of our current "big three"), and Suncoast Comics here in Jax.

Clermont's not too far from Orlando, though, and Sci-Fi City would be the place to go. Great place. None offer any discounts that I'm aware of, but Broadsword has done some weekend specials like buy one Eldar box, get one at 20% off.

Duce, if you've got free time, maybe we can get a game in on a weekend. I'm in Jacksonville and Cyporiean's in Palm coast. There's a few more lurking Dakkites in the area as well... I haven't been to Sci Fi City in a while and can probably convince the wife to give me a day off.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I can't believe no one has mentioned Coliseum of Comics in Kissimmee. It is the best gaming store on the state by far and has tonnes of merchandise.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

War Dogs in Jacksonville is pretty good.

I like Rhubarb Games in Orlando myself.

Sci Fi city and Rhubarb games in Orlando, and Coliseum of Comics in Kissimmee are your closest options.

They are all about the same drive time wise from Clermont.

Tampa's really sparse, and not too close to Clermont. The only game store I've been to in Tampa that I like is Armada games (GBF just went to one in the county north of Tampa, but hasn't told me how it is yet).

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Jacksonville has a few stores which have been mentioned. I grew up there and still come to town every 4-6 months to visit family.

Borderlands probably has the nicest tables, but I'm not sure about the gaming crowd. They stand higher so you don't have to hunch over to move your models.

War Dogs has some decent tables and a pretty good crowd of players. Terrain seems to be pretty typical of store terrain-fairly abused.

There is also Broadsword and Suncoast Comics which both are dealing in the GW product as has instore gaming. However, I've not been to either as of yet.

Just find the addresses and GPS/mapquest them and see how far they are from you.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thanks for the options so far.

I'm over from the 15th of May so was curious if there was places i could pick up some models to paint whilst out there.

I tried the Gamesworkshop site to find G stores/ independant stores, supposedly there is one 20miles away, i'll go try to refind its name to let you lot tell me if its still alive... ok the two places are:

Unity games:
9401 West Colonial Dr. Ste 112
Ocoee
FL
34761
US

and,

hit or miss gaming
5450 South Hausel Avenue
Orlando
FL
32809
US

Are these both still alive?

@Gavin, I can try to ask nicely if i'm allowed out to have a game, i'm heading over with the girlfriend and 4 of her female friends, so male company will be at zero for two weeks... i swear they talk about sex and the city i'm going to cry like a man.

The other thing if i'm allowed out for a game is my army, i'm not sure what weight allowance there is but if its 15kg and not 25kg then i'll be ahrd pressed to fit an army in the suitcase. unless i'm able to pay for a 2nd case, and even then we all know how the airport staff treat cases...

If i'm able to i'm more than happy to have a game with you. Even if its not 40k and is a skirmish game which i could bring a warband for mordheim or killteam/ combat patrol easier.

that and i've been told we're doing the funparks alot so yay big kid time.

The name of the new store is Skul-N-Bonz at 6209 Ridge Road in Port Richey just off of US-19. Not much stock yet but a lot of tables... Nice store.

There ued to be an awesome gaming store in Tampa called the Goblin Shoppe. Ran RTT tourneys almost every weekend, etc. If it's still there, it might be a good place to check out.

WarPaint Miniature Studios is currently accepting select commissions! PM if interested!

Unfortunately it's closed now.

Besides Tampa is too far to drive when your just visiting/vacationing. Especially when you have decent gaming shops in Orlando and Kissimmee.
