I'm trying my best to come up with something that will help me represent my seer council on jetbikes that doesn't involve over a month worth of converting and 200+ dollars of kits just for bits.

The best idea that I've come up with was to mount them on a sort of "Tech" disk. So before I break out the circle cutter and plasticard I am wondering if anyone has a link to a site that would sell something like this. I was going to use the doors from a tau hammer head but, well, they look tau'ish (go figure).

I also have just about every bit from 40k I can think of so any suggestions are welcome.

About 6.00 in Uk im getting 50 quids worth of Eldar tomorrow hopefully im going to build a all Jetbike Seer Council as HQ choice to go with the Guardian Jetbike Element of my army.

It will be worth it in the end mate try building a mock up of say the Farseer first then step back if you like it fair play if you dont go down the other route.

To do a NICE looking warlock on a bike would need an overly abundant allocation of time, which frankly, I don't have.

But the UFO thing has given me an idea, Thanks.

You could try the old Vyper with a platform. Just replace the turret with a chariot-like platform to stand your locks on. Shouldn't take too much time, and easy to reproduce similar, if you have the money for the vypers.

Just an FYI to anyone interested in this as well. Guardian weapon platforms are perfect for this.

This is what I do for my 'biker' seer.

I use the model I made back in 2nd ed, were he fights from the back of a vyper. It only has twin cats (like a bike) and the platform and seer base are magnetised to allow for me to field him on foot if needed/instead.
I've not had anyone call me on it being an unfair or unsporting conversion (but I don't game outside of Aus).

Doing the disk thingy would be underwhelming.

Try to find the Windrider box, 9 bikes, Autarch on bike, and 2 vypers.

you could always just take some jetbikes, and convert the riders into warlocks, or convert the plastic guardians into warlocks with putty and give em a sword or something. I think with a little work, the guardians can be made into almost any eldar infantry. They all look so similar anyways. Just hack off the backpack.

Indeed Im building a Autarch with Lasblaster Power Weapon and Hawk wings out of

A:Hawk Exarch body
B:Exarch Hawk wings
Cire Avenger Exarch (Helmetless) head
D:Exarch Power Weapon either the spear or the sword.
E: The Sunrifle will stand as the Lasblaster

So X com is correct you can build almost any Infantry,Character out of the Plastics/Metal ranges

Plus the bikes will look better

I know it's been a while but here's my jetbike farseer. I think it turned out way better than I anticipated, also I will be adding better pictures with more light soon. These are just a few quick snaps before bed.







The cape is highlighted with a subtle grey, but like I said before the pics are too low light

It appears to be simply a farseer on top of a guardian heavy weapon platform bottom part.

Simple but creative, I like it a lot. Also saves you the hassle of fighting trying to get a seer into the poisition of riding a jetbike. His pose is dynamic, and completes the scene.

Turned out really good!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I don't think that this is really tutorial worthy, all i did was pin the guy to the top of a anti grav platform.

Hellions? Well the dark eldar do get a heavy weapon jump troop I figure we could steal something of theirs.

It's not a farseer stuck on a heavy weapons platform, it is a farseer that has modified an anti gravity platform for speed and more flight capability. The same as the heavy weapon platform is modified to absorb recoil while still firing on the move :p

If I ever make a "jetbike" seer council that's exactly how I'm going to do it. Well done.

My death jester. I decided after all my harlies were painted a myriad of colors that it didn't "feel" right to me. So I decided upon a friends suggestion that I would go fully black and white with these guys. The only color will be the blue stones.

Alright, this is only a week or so old, not thread necromancy. I'm just wondering what you used to make those discs. I'm thinking of doing a seer council on bikes for an upcoming army project, and I like the looks. I'm not sure if I'll be able to convert an entire group on jet bikes with my limited modelling experience.

Those look like Eldar Weapons Platform bases.

I'm definitely stealing the idea of the guys on the anti-grav bases for Hellions for my wife's DE army (that I'm already half-converting from Eldar Guardians, thus having a ready supply of the bases incoming).

Perfectly executed, I salute you not only for the good idea but as well for the choice of colors. Having Farseer / Warlock and Gravplatform in a really neat and identical paintscheme really goes a long way of bringing these together.
