I am part way through my Alpha Legion Battle Company, and am looking for a simple but effective Deamon Prince.

My gut instinct is to go with the Inquisitor scale Artemis, but cannot compare the size against a "proper" Deamon Prince with out going out and buying one of each.

Any of you give me a heads up on a rough size comprison?

I'm working on turning Malicant from Inquisitor into a demon prince, he is slightly smaller than the standard prince, about .5" shorter. Artemis should be even closer to the right size. I thought about using Artemis but decided on the robed look.

do you want it for shock value and looks?
ive been thinking about making one simply for the fun, but havent got around to it yet.

needed: dark elves hydra, plastic dragon wings (new high elf ones are best)
and some plasticard and spare parts.

assemble the hydra so its rearing up on its back legs (requires a bit of cutting)

only use a few heads to keep the alpha legion theme.

use plasticard and other parts to model a sword (or any other weapon wanted)

add the wings and a few parts for detail.


its not the cheapest way of making a AL DP, but it will look good.

I don't have any pics around, but I can tell you this: Artemis is BIG! At least a head higher than most Inquisitor minis. He's a real "true scale" marine.

Here's a a photoshopped comparision of my two DPs (one WIP) based on base size (sorry for the pun!) - I can't do a real life comparision unfortunately, as one is not at home at present :(

As you can see, (without the oversized dragon's head), the Artemis figure is slightly larger, even taking into account for the stoop of the 'official' DP, but they are comparable.

Yeah, that's a problem. The GW Demon Prince looks like a Space Marine who grew. Artemis looks like a upscaled Space Marine.

Btw.: The Juggernaut head on the DP makes him look a bit too comical imo
