K im abit confused thinking about how the 2 aspects work along with their weapons.

Banshee use sonic screams to stun their target ( might be loud? not too sure)

Scorpions are stealthy hunters , yet why do they carry wailing chain weapons?

So shouldnt the chain sword be used on banshee since they are so loud anyways @_@?

Who says the chainsword is loud? Seems to me that the Eldar would NEVER design something so crude, loud, 'dirty', and cumbersome as an Imperial chainsword/fist.

Doesnt a physical object passing through air at high speed generate a really loud whistle? It doesnt have to be engine sound .

On our world, yes. But these are from SPACE... lol
Far be it for us to assume to understand the properties of alien technology, right? Let alone Eldar technology...

*wink*

chances are the chain would be pretty quiet, allthough it would emit a high pitched scream, followed by a not so silent sound as it hits armour

i think scorps should get power fists (claws) that double str but only give -2 to init.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

got it, but not had time to play it yet :(
spending too much time on halo 3 and call of duty 4 lol

i agree with you reasons though, it would be more fitting for a silent killer to kill with a less noisy weapon.
and also, the chainsword could fit in with the high pitched screaming of the banshee's
allthough, why scorps have tougher armour i dont know, i would prefer fleet instead :(

K JD, so you have dow 2 right?

When you play it eventually, can you tell me if the game is anything like dow1 where you can build army of anything you want. Or is it like dow2 demo, where you get 1 squad of different stuff lead by their squad hero

Banshee masks are a psychic scream, not sonic. And I know Imperial Chainswords only rev up when they're being swung via a grip switch. I would imagine the Eldar ones works in a similar fashion, only kicking in the motor when they're attacking with them.

Dow 2 is not like Dow 1. A SM player can have an army of a couple predator tanks, 4 man squads of assault or tactical marines, etc. You can't have an army of 100 marines with bolters shooting at an army of 100 chaos marines with bolters without end because each side can reinforce as fast as troops died. Dow 1 is fun as just a game where you can make a lot of units, but Dow 2 is definitely a better game.

will do luna, even though ph34r just posted it lol

Edit: still watching your siggy and waiting forher to drown lol

aduro: still kinda kills the effect of "silent hunters"
if you wanted to move through the shadows and pick apart a unit you wouldnt do so with a weapon that makes soo much noise

Too much noise? Surely all Shuriken Weapons (ya know, the ones that fire metal disks at Mach 9001) would be louder than a chainsword (ya know, with a sonic boom and everything.

Maybe, at the point where they attack, they no longer need to be silent. It's not like there are any rules anymore for stealth kills

Long reply, written on itouch = not good her goes

Scorpions are silent stalkers that hunt in the shadows, waiting to strike, at which pointbthey descend in an orgy of blood and violence, scaring the bejeesus out of the enemy with sudden loud noise = good

Banshees use Psychosonic amplifiers to turn their scream into an a psychic attack that (temporarily) paralyses the target's central nervous system, therefore a weapon that ends the enemy quickly would be preferred, so the enemy does not have time to recover.

Shuriken weapons fire monomolecular discs of wraithbone at extreme speed, cuttingthrough the air an making no noise.

Except for the fact that anything moving faster than the speed of sound in whatever medium it is travelling through creates a sonic boom.

It's one reason why some machine guns can never be silenced, because it's not the sound of the bullet that is the problem, but its the sonic boom the bullet is creating.

I always imagined the Scorps as sneaking up behing someone, bringing the chainsword up real fast, and sawing the head off at the base of the neck, before sliding into the undergrowth again.

For Banshees....... Ever dealt with a dog that just won't stop barking? Multiply that 'bout thousand, aimed at your head, as they run at you with swords.
