Title says it all, what is the best brush you've ever had/have?
Whether it be allowing for speed painting or fine detail, whichever.
For me, it's been an Escoda 2/0. It's lasted ages, and I've painted some of the best detail/blends with it I've ever done.

Nuclear: Properly pronounced new-clear, not new-cue-lir. There is no 'u' between the c and l, so stop saying it because it just makes you sound like a dumbass. This includes nucleolus, and all other derivatives of the word.

Depends what your qualifications are...
For example, even relatively cheap synthetic brushes are great, the problem is that they curl at the tip after very little use.
Honestly, I've never really had a good relationship with brushes. I like to think I'm a pretty good painter, but I tend to wear out brushes fast, have stray bristles that constantly need to be brought back to the point, etc. etc. etc.
I guess I've learned to cope with my poor knowledge of brush choice, rather than actually learn which brushes to get and how to care for them.

Mine is some crappy 3/0 I got from a art supply store... I don't know the brand. I love it though and use it for the majority of my work.

I have a no-name #2 flat that I bought in a pack at Michaels. The brush has been awesome. I used it to do my Tyranid army and Ork army. It rinses out clean, hasn't frayed, has just the right give.

Imex thick handled brushes. They come in all brush sizes and in both sable and synthetic. The handle is triangular and feels really good in the hand. The triangular shape also gives you a lot more control over the painting.

My best brush was a large Games Workshop paint brush. It lasted forever, through so much abuse that I still remember it fondly. Of course I've had some other GW brushes that turned into little afros immediately...

i paint with 2 brushes...
most of the work is done with a davinci #5...
it sounds big, but the point is sharp and precise...
the detail work is done with a w&n series 7 miniature #1...
it's a great brush...
for my metals, i use a gw large, and a gw fine detail, since they are cheaper and easier to replace than the high end brands...
cheers
