Am I correct to assume a MotF with a Conversion Beamer on Bike operates like an attack bike and can move and shoot?

Heavy+Relentless=

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

There is a search button you know, 3rd time this has been asked recently.

But yes, its possible but pointless.

Pointless is such a strong term. I don't think its really what you meant. If it is, then you need an ego check. Perhaps a MotF with that kit is not your favorite, but it is far from "pointless"

Nom it is pointless. In order for the conversion beamer to work, you have to pretty much deploy him in a corner and not move. It's a huge amount of points for a model that can be taken out by a single krak missile.

Also, my ego is just fine thank you, nice and big. I've been using Hydroponics!

A BS 4 krak missile has a 9.26% chance of wounding a MotF. I wouldn't use that tactic.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".

OK fine, how about a squadron of russes? Or a Devastator Squad? Or an Outflanking Squad.

The simple fact is that for the cost of the MotF and Bike and Conversion beamer, you could get much more effective stuff/

This part of the forum is about rules questions so it's not relevant.

Well considering you were the one who brought it up, I don't see why I shouldn't respond.

I believe the last person asking this was about a Tech marine, but I did read that as I went through the forum.

But since I already posted the question, I thought I'd let it stand.

But did not answer the move and shoot portion of my question, just if they could be taken together.

I'm sorry someone asked a question you don't particulary agree with, Gwar. Maybe . . . don't respond?

The problem is that the question has been asked 3 times in the last week. Yes he may move and fire.

Huh? It hits 2/3rds of the time and wounds on anything but 1's. Thats like a 55% chance. Even in 3+ cover its an 18.5% Where did you get 9.26 from?

I meant unsaved wound.
2/3*5/6*1/6=0.0926

MotF has 2+ armour, something I had forgotten when I made my claim., so yeah, a SINGLE Missle has 9.3% chance of killing it, a barrage of 4 is 32.2%, and thats at all BS4. A single lascannon has a 55.6% chance. The fact remains that I more often than not I WILL instakill your 150 point MotF with 54 points of Tactical marine.

But the same could be said about any of the non special character HQs, all of them have to potential to be instakilled by high strength weapons, I figure forget the bike and put the points towards a squad of ablative scouts or something.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I still think the MotF on a bike with a servo-harness is a better choice simply for the mobility of your Mr. Fix-it.
