Just wondering how it tends to work out, and how many points to reserve for officers and the like.

Average game in Germany and some other countries is 2600, split into 1800/800.

Depends on you, I prefer battkles more than 2000 AP, as it is good to a mix of several different units and the possibilities to explore differnt companies/platoon

Officers?, as you know each company is formed between 1 or more platoons and each platoons have 1 or more units

In a Company you cannot have more than 1 rank 5 officer (UNA/RB Colonel, Omega Overseer or Karman Saint)
In a Platoon yo cannot have more than 1 rank 4 officer (UNA/RB Captain, Sigma Overseer, Karman Venerable?)

After that there are only 2 other rules to follow: A unit can only ever have maximum 1 officer and you dont have to have officers in all your units....

Personally I allways have a type 5 Officer one type 3 as backup... and I try that all my units have type 1 officer (Sargents, Alfa Overseers)

I have Karmans, and I was planning on fielding Libra.

So the above 2000 points game is the 2600 1800/800 pts?

Okay, sounds good to me.

For a Karman, AFAIK less than 2000 really hit them hard, as their untis are more expensive than others, besides that I know almost nothings as I play RB and Therians, so check this link:

One of the residents Karman player made a nice guide, also there are quite a lot moe discussions about Karmsn in the Forum.

@Wolfen i have a question since you follow the game closely .

Whats going on with the game thats making them have 60% off sales? Are they closing or will they still make new minis? ( Cog? and the 4 legged super mech )

No, Rackham is not closing.

Sales, long story short:

About 1 or 1.5 years ago, Rackham and FFG agreed that FFG would distribute R products in the USA, After R restructuration someone (dunno which R or FFG) decide to stop their dealings, however FFG HAD already a buch of product stocked, so in order to get money back the did the SALE... other companies (e.g. The war store) bought form FFG a lot so they can run same type of Discount

If you notice, NEW releases from the war Store are not in discount as it was not FFG stock, one the stock is over prices will come back to "normal" Here in Europe we do not have such a discount so if you are interested do it before its over.

They are making new minis and new games... the Cogs is the new army thats going to be released in June/July... The army box that you are seeing is a full 2000 pts that are going also to be released at the same time... untill now there are 2 know Army boxes the REd Blok and the cogs... obviously we expect to see the previous and future armies to have the same

I've played 6 or so games the past month and a half. My group is playing 2000AP. For my UNA, that usually means a full platoon of 5 units and 1 or 2 units in a second platoon.

My group doesn't do the reinforcements thing, opting instead for a 20cm deployment zone. I'm not keen on it, but that's democracy for you.

I usually run a Lt or Captain. I'm usually fighting Red Blok and will lose most first activation rolls. Having a Lt or Captain will let me have all the LP I need for drills.

Games run about 2 hours. It's definitely getting quicker as we better understand the rules.

Actually it was FFG who decided by its actions to no longer distribute. They wanted to concentrate on their own TTs, which ironically failed some time later.

@Cog
below 2000AP hits them even harder.
