Hey as you know AOBR doesn'r really upgrade the models very much but I've been wanting to upgrade them so post any good upgrades you've done here.

I just bought Assault termies so I took an extra Lighting claw and put it in place of my captains power sword.

I think technically they would be conversions, not upgrades.

I myself have found no need to change the AoBR contents, I just purchased additional forces that I needed.

I had no need to change the AOBR anything, except add an assault cannon to the terminators.. and an assault cannon to the dread, I used the whole space marine side as the basis for my current army.

Most of the AoBR minis are fine as they are, but when I started on my second box I set about making a couple of minor changes ( weapon swaps mostly). These are the few I chose to do :

(built as boxed on the left, re-tooled on the right)

Dreadnought Weapon swap (Lascannons from Predator kit)




Terminator Sergeant converted to Terminator Chaplain


Head and weapon swap for the Tactical Sergeant (Yes, I know about the mould-line on the helmeted sgt's shoulder, but he's still WIP)

All very simple. Beyond that, the Marines don't really need much work, IMHO. Not too sure about the orks, but I expect there are more possibilities with them.

Very good I re-jigged the dread as a Deff Dread for my Ork Army

Proberly gonna purchase a few sets soon to six to be precise to upgrade both Ork and Space Marine armies I own

3 Dreads and 6 Marine components to upgrade the Crimson Ravens (My own DIY Chapter)
3 6 Ork Components to upgrade my orks that will be 120 ish boyz 6 new Warbosses to convert to either Big Meks Pain boyz or weird boyz 18 Deff Kopters ( Big Apoc Squadron) and 3 new Deff Dread candidates and 30 new Ork Nobz. so yea I love the interchangability of the sets.

The Terminators in the AOBR box set that will be THIRTY yes Thirty of them will end up as part of the Teleporting "Rapid insertion" force that will teleport in with my Chapter Master in upcoming planetstrike games I will no doubt have with my regular opponent they are gonna be rejigged with assault cannons and the such captains with Thunder hammers and lighting claws

Im liking those deffcopters Im gonna do a NOB copter (hmmmmm i can see you trying not to laugh at that) it will be a uber copter bristling with weaponary.

Ok thanks for the correction I corrected the name of the thread. Also I find that the weapons on the models are the only real thing that need fixing which is why I gave my Captain a LC and now I'm thinking of remodeling the sarge for the tactical squad with the PW of the captain. Also I bought a battle force and used it to add a nob to the Ork boyz so that they have a tank killing potential and I'm thinking of giving a Big bomb to the deffkoptas and also buzz saws. The CC weapons that the model come with don't suit my army so that's why I changed them. I might cut off the claws and use the LC as a PF though, what do you think?

Man...some awesome conversions there. I love that Sgt. and SNAG I am kitbashing one up right now....

Also, those Deff Dreds look too cool too. I looked at mine and thought the same thing but couldnt figure the right fist. You got it bang on.

I turned 8 of the AoBR Ork Boyz in to Burna Boyz using the bitz I had left over from two boxes of Lootas/Burnaz.

I'm going to do some conversions on the Terminators but i'm awaiting the parts in the mail. Nothing fancy, just some shoulder pads and new power fists.

I SHOULD have done that but I only got the idea AFTER using the burnas to decorate my SM sergeants base to make him john the ork killer =P
