I was going to do pics but since I'm using some unpainted models I didn't want to put up picks of the ugley things. I've already got my devil dog's converted, and my demolishers converted, now they just need some paint.

My Imperial Guard List:

HQ
1 Company Command Squad w/ 3 melta guns, chimera, officer of the fleet

Troops
1 Platoon Command Squad w/ 3 melta guns, chimera
Infantry Squad w/ auto-cannon, plasma gun, chimera
Infantry Squad w/ auto-cannon, plasma gun, chimera
Infantry Squad w/ auto-cannon, plasma gun, chimera

Veteran Squad w/ 3 plasma guns, lascannon, chimera

Fast Attack
Devil Dog w/ hull multi-melta
Devil DOg w/ hull multi-melta
Hellhound w/ hull heavy flamer

Heavy Support
Demolisher w/ hull heavy flamer, multi-melta sponsons
Demolisher w/ hull heavy flamer, multi-melta sponsons
Eradicator w/ hull heavy bolter, sponson heavy bolters

Eldar List:
HQ
Farseer w/ fortune, doom, crap load of warlocks, wave serpent

Elites
Banshees, wave serpent
Fire Dragons, wave serpent

Troops
Dire Avengers, wave serpent w/ bright lance
Dire Avengers, wave serpent w/ bright lance
Dire Avengers, wave serpent w/ eml

Mission: Objecives (5) I tried to place the majority towards the center of the table, to prevent the eldar from outflanking (which I found out afterwards he had none) and to try to minimize his ability for ramming(which didn't work at all).

Deployment Type: Pitched Battle

I won the role and decided to go first. I anchored the flanks with the devil dogs, put the demolishers in the middle. Put the ccs and a couple of squads on the left, the pcs and a couple of squads on the right. The eradicator and vets in the middle behind the demolishers

My opponent after seeing all the tanks on the table kept everything in reserves.

Turn #1
Everything moves forward and begins to occupy objectives.

Imperial Guard Turn #2
I do some more shuffling around but try not to get too close to his tabl edge
IG Objectives: 1 Eldar Objectives: 0
Eldar Turn #2
He only gets in one unit, the farseer and council. He flat outs them up the left side within striking distance of one of my demolishers.

Imperial Guard Turn #3
Okay so I shuffle around and try to bring guns to bear on the farseer's wave serpent. With all those tanks some of them are getting blocked off but I still have a lot of shots to take at him i maneuver the hell hound and devildog to be able to take shots at the squad if they get out. So I shoot 2 melta cannons, 4 multi-melta's, 2 demolisher cannon's, 4 melta guns, 6 plamsa gun's, 4 auto-cannon's, and 4 multi-laser's and manage to shake the serpent.
IG Objectives: 3 Eldar Objectives: 0

Eldar Turn #3
He gets in both wave serpents with bright lances and the banshee's. Farseer squad dismounts and assaults the hellhound, demolisher, and a chimera, they blow up the demolisher and the chimera. The 2 bright lance armed wave serpents get one hit on the second demolisher, get a pen, and blow it up with a 5. The banshee's turbo boost down the right hand side, setting up for side armor shots on chimera's.
IG Objectives: 3 Eldar Objectives: 1

Imperial Guard Turn #4
I unleash the hellhound, 2 guard infantry squads, the eradicator, 2 chimera's, and the vet's squads plasma and autocannon into the farseer squad leaving three. One devildog blows up one of the dire avenger wave serpents, and my ccs immobilizes the other one. I fired the hellhound first, forgetting that I had to issue orders at the beginning of the turn so didn't get to issue any orders.
IG Objectives: 3 Eldar Objectives: 1

Eldar Turn #4
The farseer assault's the ccs chimera, and the hellhound, they wreck the hellhound and immobilize the ccs chimera. The banshee's try to ram one of the chimera's sitting on the middle rear objective.
IG Objectives: 3 Eldar Objectives: 1

Imperial Guard Turn #5
I remember first rank fire, second rank fire, and wipe out the farseer squad with 2 of my infantry squads. I take a bunch of shot's and whittle one of the dire avenger squads down to one model. My pcs backs up to block off the exit hatch of the banshee's wave serpent and blows it up pinning the banshee's.
IG Objectives: 3 Eldar Objectives: 1

Eldar Turn #5
The other dire avenger squad boosts down the left hand side to contest that objective with my guard. The fire dragons come in on the right hand side and unload and destroy one of my devil dog's. He attempts some serious ramming but doesn't really net anything good.
IG Objectives: 2 Eldar Objectives: 1

Since I would have won at the end of turn 5 of course we go to turn 6

Imperial Guard Turn #6
I take a bunch of shot's at the newly arrived dire avengers but do nothing. My pcs squad gets out of their chimera and light's up the fire dragon's wave serpent blowing it up. I frfsrf into the fire dragons killing 4 out of 8. It's now the eradicator's moment to shine it takes aim and promptly missing the banshee's right in front of it. I do a bunch more shooting and when the dust clears there is actually still one more banshee left. I run the pcs squads chimera up to contest the eldar objective.
IG Objectives: 2 Eldar Objectives: 0

Eldar Turn #6
His wave serpent rams my chimera with my vet squad in it. Blowing it up and killing 4 of the squad ( I had already lost 3 plasma guns from 1's, and he rolled 6 out of 7 wounds). He then assault's in with the banshee and does no wounds locking himself in hth. His dire avengers unload on my pcs killing all but the commander (yay for go to ground, and wound allocation). His fire dragons destroy another chimera. His dire avengers on the left assault my troop squad getting themselves locked in hth on the objective.
IG Objectives: 1 Eldar Objectives: 0

Since I would have won at the end of turn 6 of course we go to turn 7

Imperial Guard Turn #7
The eradicator gets a hit in on the dire avengers, that coupled with some other shooting gets them down to one model. My ccs kills the other dire avenger exarch, and my infantry squad frfsrf and shoots at the fire dragon's, only killing two. I dump more shots into them and finally kill off the rest of the fire dragon's. I try to take out at least one more of the wave serpents but no luck.
IG Objectives: 1 Eldar Objectives: 0

Eldar Turn #7
He boosts over and contests my objective bringing us to IG Objectives: 0 Eldar Objectives: 0. A tie.

It was an extremly blood battle. At the end of it there was 1 banshee, 1 dire avenger, 6 dire avengers, and 2 wave serpents left on the eldar side. On the Imperial guard side was 2 full 10 man infantry squads, an eradicator, a devildog, the company command squad, and a few of immobilized chimera's (mostly from ram's throughout the game). And you guessed it one of the two wave serpents that survived was the farseers one from turn #2.

Army Changes:
I was very un-impressed with the eradicator so for my next game I'm going to swap it out for something else. I also don't think I need 3 infantry squads, I'm going to drop one of those and try out some battle psykers I think. They would have helped me get rid of the banshee exarch or the fire dragons in the later rounds. I'm also very un-impressed with the plasma, auto-cannon, veteran's, especially when they are sitting in a chimera. I'm going to replace their weapons and give them some melta.

After game review:
I thought all those shots would at least bring down the waveserpent on turn #2, I should have played it a bit safer and ran the hellhound up to block off a possible asasult and backed off my demolisher, that and remember to do my orders first although that would have cut down on the wounds I got from the hellhound. First rank fire second rank fire is a very nice order, it forced a ton of saves on the warlock council and helped to take out the banshee's and the fire dragons. That's about the only one I used because I waited a very long time to get my commander out of his tank. The other thing I probably should have done second turn was gotten the ccs squad out and used the fire on my target on the farseer's waveserpent. My fear there was that they would pop the serpent and then get pasted by the council.

Good report, too bad that the eldar were able to sneak a tie at the end.

Have you tried blobing an infantry platoon on an objective in a large area so as to prevent any unit getting 3" away from the objective? If you add a commissar it can take a lot of punishment and prevents any last second skimmer tricks.

I'm not sure how the blob squad can keep the skimmer from contesting? They just tank shock you right off the objective? Please elaborate! That would work against non-tank skimmers but not against skimmers that are also tanks.
