So now that the new book is almost upon us I have a feeling people will be hacking apart their beloved tanks. Switch out sponson weapons, hull weapons, and attempting to scratch build or convert a lot of the new stuff.
I thought it would be nice to have a thread with different idea's for the different tanks to try to help people out.
Current conversions I'm working on.
Devil Dog - For the melta cannon I used one of the multi-melta's off of the immolator from the sisters of battle. It has a nice big fuel tank and hose and fits right into the turret. For the hull multi-melta I chopped down one of the multi-melta's from the land speeder set. I then cut out all the lasguns from the chimera that I was using, trying to think up what to cover the holes with now.
Multi-melta sponsons - I went back to the immolator sprue for these. It's perfect giving you a left side and right side multi-melta to put in your sponsons.
Currently trying to figure out a way to convert the executioner heavy plasma turret, also trying to decide if I want to try and convert a hydra.

@ Augustus - I love the top two vehicles.
Are they Sd Kfz 222s?
What scale?
They'd be pretty nice for an urban suppression squad I'm thinking about.
@CaptainJack: How did you build the front part of your top picture?
Thanks!

both ICM & tamyia do them in 1/48th which seems to work well. I got the ICM one. I comes with etched brass & is way cheaper than the Tamyia one

The armoured cars are 222's, and they are probably 1/35th scale. Tamiya are good, but the Italeri ones are generally cheaper. The front piece on my necromunda skip truck was rescued from a friends bitz box (we share a lot!) and I think it's from a FW griffon or bombard, with plasticard to fill out the sides. The chassis comes from two ork truck back ends which were split in front of the fuel tank, really simple to do with the parts.
The L/Russ Vanquisher is two sets of wheels and tracks side by side and the hull reversed within the tracks. There are a couple of holes to fill, but nothing difficult. The 8 wheeler and the half track are almost finished, and I will post 'em when I can.
