So I purchased the AOBR set because I wanted to start some sort of SM army. As I was going through the box I could not help but all in love with the orks. This is where the dilemma comes in; I am looking for some help on putting together a KOS army. I don't know much about what I want with the exception of I want bikes and Deffkoptas! Here is where I as for the help of all you warbosses out there. Post up a list if you have one of those crazy speed freaks, and then I can get to work on building a good un. Oh and I was leaning towards Wazzdakka Gutzmek as the first HQ choice.

Yup get wazdakka so you can get that bike mob as a troop choice. Get a transport for any boyz you get and get as many bikes, deffkoptas and war buggies/trakks as you can. Also I recomend a BW with KK just to take out other infantry.

Cool, thanks for that. I read some where (in some forum) that there are restrictions for KOS as in you can not take certain things like Deffdreads and KK. Is this true?

Get da nobz power claws. It makes fer nice squishy crunchy noises when youz charge marines and such.

Maybe you should look fer a big mek wif a kustom force field he would make fer a great leader for dem trukk boyz.

Not shur but youz also might wants some wreckin ballz fer yer trukks or rams. Dem is 9 strength attacks against vehicles or enemies dat get close to yer trukks.
Da ram makes yer trukks able to tank shokk da enemies. Kinda fun to herd em before youz gets out an biffs em on da head.

Lootas work better without meks.Looters should be put somewhere and they should shoot, not move, at all.

Mek should run around verhicles.

Different tasks doesn't work, I think.

Could you tweak it into a 1500 army?

Drop the meks you want as many deffgun shots as possible. Every nob should have a power klaw, and Wuzzdakka only lets one of your biker mobs be a troop choice, the other 2 are still fast attack units. If you want to keep the koptas you have, you can make it 2 bigger mobs instead of the 3 smaller ones, i think you can get 2 10 biker mobs for those points, but with the cost of pks it probably drops down to 2 bike mobs. If you want to keep the KOS feel, you can probably fit in 3 cheap battlewagons or 2 battlewagons and a looted wagon with a boomgun.

From what I've seen a general KOS army looks like this:

HQ: Warboss on Bike w/ PK, Cybork, Attack Squig, Shoota/Skorcha

Big Mek w/ PK, KFF

Elite: 15 Burnas

Troops: Nobz on Bikez, about 8 or 9, all kitted out individually so you can individually allocate wounds. Also one is a pain boss so all boyz get cyborked

12 Slugga Boyz, Trukk

12 Slugga Boys, Trukk

12 Slugga Boyz, Trukk

Heavy Support:

Battlewagon w/ Deff Rolla, Big Shootas

Add Lootas to flavor.

This should all fit into a some 1500 or 1750 army.

The tactic here is to attach the warboss to the nobz to eat up big baddies, vehicles ect... The three tukk boyz are your scoring units. The Burnas get the Battlewagon along with the Mek. The wagon is the center of your army and the trukks hug it. Remember, your KFF works from ANY POINT along the hull of the battlewagon. That's a HUGE radius for the KFF.

The problem with fielding a lot of buggies is buggies don't count when taking ground. Also, don't take Kans or Dreads. With a 6" move they'll be left in the dust behind your speedy army.

On the subject of Deffkoptas. I like em! I'm using a pair of them in my game... But just a pair. The reason is if you take 3 or 4 than if 1 dies they need to start making morale tests (25% casualties in one go) Since there's only 3 or 2 (dependign on origional size) in that mob they won't be fearless and save on a 7. That sucks. Or wait, is it 6 for having 25 percent casualties? Damn I need to grab the book.

The lesson here is keep it small. If you lose one in a 4 kopter mob and the mob breaks, your out 135 points. If you lose one in a 2 kopter mob and the mob breaks, your out 45 points. Plus, with the above list there's not much fast attack so you can field three units of 2. Use the kopters to outflank vehicles and get rear armor shots with the TL Rokkits.

Well, that's about all there is to say about that.

So does anyone know for sure if he makes it so that you can take more than one biker mob as troop choice. Just a little background I am shooting for around 1800 - points as the group that I play with has a limit of 2000 per army.

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

must have things in a speedfreak army:

wazdakka (special rule comes in very handy, plus he has amazing weps)

bikes - just all round good units, stable, shooty, and can fight if needed (units of 5 with klaw nobs work well)

trukks! - you will need to take some boyz to bulk things out, units of 12 in a trukk with klaw nobz are great.

koptas - you like them, so take them.
twin linked rokkits work well, just dont waste points on the buzz saw

bosses - a warboss on a bike is great to mix in with biker units or bikernobz, adds some hitting power to them.

biker nobz? - they are one of the strongest units in an ork army, use them with a boss or wazdakka for some serious shooting / combat.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
