Yes you get armour saves.

Why do you say "logically it would not"?

Also you do realise that its not 100% if the Deffrolla affects vehicles.

And the "Grot surviving where a land raider could not" is all down to luck. Grots are wounded on a 2+ vs S10, while the land raider is only Glanced on a 4, and Penetrated on a 5 or 6.

um because I should have said logically in the real world and that its a giant spiky rolling pin on the front of a big scary looking tank and I was'nt talking about against a deff rolla but I see how that happened

It may not specifically state "Units being tank shocked get armor saves against these wounds," but it does clearly state you get d6 attacks against said unit resolving wounds at S10. Armor (or any, for that matter) saves are rolled in response to wounds inflicted. Yes, they get their armor saves. It would clearly state if they do not, likely with the addendum that wounds are resolved at S10, ignoring armor.

I can not even fathom how to read the OP. My brain just shuts down, thankfully people replied.

The eye of terror.

First point: logic has no place in the 40k universe (or at least very little place...).

Second point: in real life people have survived falling from huge heights, horrible vehicular collisions of various types, and getting shot in the head (even multiple times).

So, the "1s always fail" rule represents these sorts of vagaries of fate.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

I know logic has no place I've played fantsy/40k long enough to work that out I was just putting it in as an argument for getting armour saves

I find this thread really funny. Someone asking if the deathrolla allows armor saves. The deathrolla is a pet peave of mine.

Think about the three steps of how a model gets wounded.

1) to hit. The death rolla hits AUTOMATICALLY. Is there anything else in the game that does this? So the 1st step is essentially removed. A freakin Bloodthirster walks up to a Tau / Grot and still misses 1/3 of the time. But the but an Assassin / banshee exarch can't jump out of the way of this tank?

2) To wound. OK Strength 10...So it is wounding Wraithlords on 2's. So everything gets wounded 5/6's of the time.

3) so the only thing keeping this thing in check is the armor save...and someone wants to remove it.

Sorry rant off.

I would have gotten in on this discussion, but the complete disregard for punctuation and grammatical rules put me off.

Yeah...Death or glory have their downside where you get crushed....the immobilized is making my point. Your troops are not immobilized.

I'm just tweeked at myself for not knowing the rules from the Ork Codex. Cost me a top spot in our Ard Boyz tourney this year thanks to the deathrolla crushing my Avatar, mostly cause I didn't realize what it could do. So everytime someone mentions Deathrolla...i see a little red.

3) so the only thing keeping this thing in check is the armor save...

Well, and the fact you have to buy a battlewagon, model the roller, and pay a couple of hundred points to have it in your list. Then maneuver it to where it can hit something. But yeah, if you happen to just stand there and let it hit you, the only thing saving you is armor.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

a couple of hundred points? 90+20=110 so thats lets see...umm...not a couple of hundred points. Oh wait it has armor plates so that makes it...120 still not a couple of hundred points. And its pretty hard to not get hit by something that moves 13" a turn, runs you over and pukes out 19 ard boys with grotsnik.
