Today is really bad. I have two major homework assignments due (a story for English and an essay on protests for Modern History) by tomorrow, and there's no fething way I can finish both tonight. Why not? Let's see...
3:20 PM: Leave school on bus.
4:25 PM: Get home (I live in a town about half an hour from the edge of the city).
4:30 PM: Eat food. Have drink. Sit down for ten minutes in front of the fire because it's freezing down here.
4:45 PM: Walk dog for about 30-45 minutes.
5:15-5:30 PM: Get home from walk.
6:00 PM: Mum gets home from work. Make coffee and talk about her day.
6:45 PM: Feed dogs (all three of them).
7:00 PM: Eat dinner. Watch news and weather.
7:30 PM: Finish dinner. Watch end of news. Have shower.
8:00 PM: Finish in shower.
9:30 PM: Watch Stargate SG-1. I must do this, because it's a bit of family time and I have to record it on DVD.
10:30 PM: Bed.
So what do I do then? I have an hour and a half maximum, and I'm far from finished on either piece of work.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

What, your dvd recorder doesn't have a tuner/timer function?
When I was at school, I wasn't allowed to watch TV until I had already done my homework (I didn't watch a lot of TV back then )
Mind you, I usually handed stuff in late (lose a few marks, but what the hell) - and did Maths instead of modern history.

It does, but I can't set it beforehand because the setup menu covers the whole screen and my mum will be watching stuff.

I found out today that I have probably ran out of Financial Aid. I am slated to graduate in December of 09 (I needed one more semester's worth). I have my first child on the way and we were depending on using the left over money to help with costs since my wife will be missing near three months of work.
I think that qualifies.

Oh yeah?
I have been out of work for over a year. I am on welfare but that barely covers rent+bills.
I actually got INTO university, a good one too, but did not qualify for financial aid, as I had a job at the time. Then I lost my job so could no longer afford to go to uni and could not get the Financial Aid because it is based off your last years earnings.
And what's worse, my Welfare Payments are stopping in 25 days, then I Have to re-apply then (and only then) for a different kind of Welfare that is even lower, which will take a good 10 weeks to sort out, so I am fethed for those 10 weeks.
And I'm not being a lazy bum, I have been looking for work non-stop, but there is no work any more in my area for an uneducated gakker like me. I could always move, but in order to do that I need money, which I don't have because I don't have a job.
And as well, the one small glimmer of hope that I had, a Back to Education program that is basically financial aid++ for the over 23's to go back to university, will most likely be scrapped next year, one year too early for me.
And as well, here in Ireland our Tuition fees are subsidised by the State as standard. This is also being scrapped, most likely within a Year.
So yeah, I am just having the time of my fething life at the moment.

I started studying English because it was the only class in school I was really good at. The I realised I suck at it. I have to learn grammar rules again, which I haven't used in over 5 years and in another class we're supposed to read Shakespeare and I have no idea what the hell they're talking in this book.

That's ok.
Native english speakers have no idea what he was crapping on about either. Even with cribbed notes.

Thanks Cheese, but there's one big problem. I can write and I can speak (with a pretty bad accent as I discovered last semester) but I have no idea how it works. I just know it from movies, games and...well, the Internet. But now I have to re-learn all those rules about grammar which I don't even know in German.

Yeah, and? If A Chinese Man goes to live in Russia, does he become Russian? If a Nigerian goes to live in Norway, does he become Norweglandian? I am English, and Damn Proud of it. I'm not in this country by choice, and want to go back home, but cannot afford it, so until then I will stick it out here.

Who doesn't
I have to write an essay about a chapter in As you like it but I don't understand a word that's written there. So I read something online about the play, but I still have no idea what to write.
