I noticed that the rules for master of ordnance say that his attack is an ordnance barrage but they don't indicate any template. My initial understanding was that it was similar to the valkyrie missile that is ordnance but does not have a template, it's merely a missile that rolls 2 dice for pen. After reading a recent battle report where it talks about the master of ordnance's attack taking out 7 dudes I then assumed it must have some kind of blast template but it doesn't seem to indicate large or regular. Help me out people.

Also on a small side not is the whole mortar combo thing kosher or no?

barrage weapons automatically have a blast template, ordnance blast weapons automatically use the large blast template, so it uses the large blast template.

It's not the smartest way to write it, but it definitely has a large blast template.

Yes its kosher, its probably one of the saddest examples of rules layering ive seen in a while but yes it is. Pg 32 of the small rule book under multiple barrages.

Sadly because of this ive now stuck telion in my army just to pick them off.

Yes, ALL Ordnance Blast/Barrage weapons use the Large Blast Template unless SPECIFICALLY stated otherwise as on Page 58 of the BRB.

Also, searching helps, this has come up several times before.

This is not true of standard ordnance, which only makes blast weapons use the large blast, if an ordnance weapon is listed without blast in the profile it will not have one, the barrage is vital here for providing the initial blast.

Yes, that is correct. I seem to have forgotten a word there, woops. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it

So the standard valk hellstrike missile is basically just a crack missile that gets 2d6 for pen because it counts as ordnance but no blast template. Right?

Its more like a Hunter Killer Missile with Limited range but "2D6 Pick the Highest" Armour pen, not 2D6.
