Hey everyone, well my order has just landed of my wraithlord and my xv89 suit who i wish to make into a farsight model, aswell as a normal battlesuit model

I'm having difficulty on deciding which i want to start off first, so what would you dakkaites like to see in porcess first ?

I like them equally as much so that is why im asking what you would rather see first

So what say you ?!

I'm always down with snipers.

Well with the poll still goign i decided to run a few ideas across for both projects.

I'll start with the wraithlord one . I plan on making the sniper rifle unique depending on how the choice looks, so here is a quick pick of the appointed weapon that i wish to substitute for the bright lance as the rifle.



I'm not sure if it will fit the eldar look well but time will tell, it will have a stock on the end as well to make it look like a rifle.

For the farsight conversion i plan on using the wraiths sword and modify it for his dawn blade, unfortuinatly i dont have pics of how i intend to place this onto the arms etc but i'm sure you can get the picture

Thats a really cool weapon.

Well with already a considerable amount of votes for the wraithlord. I decided to start up on the body today and set up his pose as the body work was the easy part !

I decided to go for an action like movement, for him as i plan to make another 2 has his squad members .


Here is the partially finished body with the rifle bluetacked on , im quite pleased with how the pose turned out .


And here is a small detail shot.

So onto the rifle, i had to unfortuinatly masacre the weapon iwanted to use as it was far too big for the model and threw it completely out of proportion, so i hacked into the bright lance to get the rear ammo part or engerizer whatever . So now here is the modified rifle atm,



I am planning on constructing general curves onto the rifle to try and represent the curves on the brightlance, and eldar weaponry in general.
i will begin working on the rufle one i ge tsome greenstuff in stock.

But for now i would like to hear your thoughts on the body, and what small arms weaponry i should put onto him e.g. flamers or shurikan catapult pistols.
And i would also like to hear your thoughts on he i should adapt the shape of the rifle into an eldar like weapon.

Yeah i see what you mean about the grenade thing , my initial idea was to create the look of a handisngal to the other wraiths, but that may only work when i get the other 2 in the near future

Ok so today i have finished up on the main body of the Wraithlord adding the cloth and catapults to the model and fixed the head in place,
I have also worked n the rifle today and completed the round like grip on the gun, towards the back where i also added more sections of calerbrators, enrgizers, what ver you'd like to call them.

i have yet to take the photo of the rifle as my camera rran out of battery after the two photos i took of the body.




and just a close up of the head with the long cloth things. (sorry im not verygood on names today, been tired all day.)

So what do you think ?

Ok So mega progress with both projects , the wraithlord is officially complete, and his rifle is 99% done,

I changed the lords hand to the open hand to remove that look of him throwing a grenade ! It now looks more like an order signal.

His rifle i added a smooth cylinder like chape to the bottom of the rifle to give it a more eldar look, and here it is



the green stuff needs more work to smoothen it out and then the rifle will be finished.

Now onto the farsight project, yesterday i worked solid on that project to get to adecent stage, unfortuinatly i dont have any WIP shot but i have the final product that finished up today.





Over all i am pleased with the outcome of this model as the pose is very close to that of the one seen in the tau codex :
Please comment on these convesions as i really would like to know how you like them, or not if that be the case.

next to come is the painting, I'm not sure of the colour si am going to do the raithlord in yet, so that will be the last to get a paint job, but i am open to suggestions of colours for eldar that you really like. when i get the time, farsight will be undercoated soon and will post pics of the progress.

yeah its the forgeworld XV89 kit, i thought it would give a different and unique look to him in amongst his 7 body guard.

That sword looks awesome I reckon it could replace the suit landing on a marine for the "Who sucks at CC now image". The Wraithlord is cool if scary (Wraith Lord's throwing Grenades now Plasma rounds that size will slaughter the Mon-Keigh bastards) It also looks really fast paced and dynamic as if it's leading its fellows into battle. I don't however think it looks like a crouching sniping Wraithlord though.

Yeah the crowching elemnt didnt go aswell as i had hoped !i needed to hack the legs more i think, nevermind it still looks dynamic and effective wich is what i ultimatly wanted.

trust me...

I understand the difficulty of doing a sniper pose on something that CANT do a sniper pose...

the nurgle vindicare I made was a marine who's joints were butchered so I could get him into a misconstrued sniper pose... thats why I figured build him into a terrain base for sniper pose....

so keep it up...

it takes a little effort but he'll be fluid... I can tell that...
