Subject: space marine codex question

Bounding Assault Marine
|
I'm wondering if non-standard space marine codix armies (i.e. black templars, dark angels, space wolves) can use vehicles and equipment choices from the 5th edition codex. Specifically, new land raider variant, thunderfire cannon, master of the forge, etc. Oh, and the new options for razorbacks. If you can, would some please let me know where I can find rules or faqs saying that (so I can ward myself against nit-pickers)

The whole world's a stage, you're either an actor or a prop; it's up to you which one.

Dark Angels FAQ is the only one I know of, and all it really tells you is "Ask your opponent" if I recall correctly.

DA codex FAQ has something like this (check with your mates, etc). Space Wolves, too.
In a tournament environment, your codex and only what is allowed in it. If you play DA and want to use them, play Green Marines instead (just don't call them Dark Angels. Call them Dunkel Angels. )

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Pretty much you have to use one codex exclusively. You can tell your opponent that you are using the SM Codex and that you just like the DA paint scheme, or you can use the actual DA codex. Though like said above in tournaments thats a no go.

No, you cannot. You can only use what your codex tell you too. For all Space Marine variants EXCEPT for Space Wolves (who have a specific rule saying to look in the SM Codex for their rules). That means you use your own codex. Plain and Simple.
Anyone wanting to use the new rules from the Marine codex along with their Variant Chapter rules is, quite simply, a cheater. If they want to use the new rules, you use ALL the new rules, you don't try and Claim that your Deathwing Troop Slot terminators all have 3++ Saves now.
Of Course this is all subject tot he caveat that you can change any rule you want so long as your opponent agrees to it. So yeah, you can try, but don't dare get annoyed when they refuse, because that is their right.
