Hi - I was touched by the remarkable thread on the Warseer.

It seems that in the new printing of the codex our beloved Orks got nice boost.

Warbikes are 2W now

In summary thay are still one but then agin - who would have cared about summary

Newest print would be the most Valid IMO. Until GW Errata it, Warbikers have 2 Wounds.

Just another example of GW's fine editorial Staff and commitment to customer/community support eh?

Isn't that the Warbiker Nob that gets two wounds in the FAQ? Which makes a bit of sense since a nob on foot gets 2 wounds.

The FAQ does *not* say that. The FAQ says the Nobz get 2 wounds.

This is clearly a typo. It is 1w, to play it otherwise is the same as cheating.

This is clearly intended. To play it otherwise is Cheating.

See, I can do it too.

The fact of the matter is, the newest print run of the codex is always the correct one, as it always has been since the says of the Witchhunters and Necron Codex's. To claim otherwise, is in fact, cheating, until GW issue an errata.

Huh, yeah it does say Nob...I just saw "Ork Bikers" at the begining of it.

My codex says 1 Wound in the Rules, Army List, and Summary page.

Your codex is obviously not the current print run. I suggest you get the most up to date rules. The most recent Print run says they have 2 Wounds in the unit entry, so they do.

So, do I have the order of events right:

1) GW releases Ork Codex. All members of a Bike squad have 1 wound.
2) GW released errata, raising number of Wounds to 2 for the Nob, keeping Bike Nob in line with all other Nobs.
3) To remove the need for the errata, GW reprints the Codex, and corrects the number of wounds on the Nob.
4) Because they're incompetent, GW also accidentally changes the number of wounds the normal biker Orks have to 2.
5) Thus ensuring that the cycle of errata continues.

4) Because they wished to remove the need for more errata, they changed the number of wounds the normal biker Orks have to 2.
5) Thus ensuring that GW have confusing and contradictory Codex's between print runs, just as they have done for decades.
Fixed it for you

At least we both agree that GW are utter morons though.

Yeah - now all we have to do is wait for Space Wolfs typo in bolter AP value or something like that

Seriously do anyone here thinks this was intended ?

I mean all other bikers ( like SM bikers ) have the number of wounds equeal to the standar squad. As noob bikers are noobs - thay get 2 , bikers are boys thay get one.

Btw where does it state that you should always use the newst print ?

Sorry Gwar, you are pushing a point that is obviously false. Worse yet, you know it is false, and are pushing it anyway. The worst type of 'devils advocate'.

Do you *really* think they intend for normal ork bikers to have 2Ws? Really?

Based on the previous release, and the FAQ; it is crystal clear that this is a typo made when the 'corrected' for the reprint. Stop arguing points just for the sake of arguing.

Further, Check the actual entry in the book, it lists it as 1W, and the summary page lists it as 1W.

It is 1W......

The crux of the issue is GW's latest printing. The guy on Warseer posted a pic of the page in question of the codex he had just purchased. His copy showed Warbikers with 2 wounds.

I don't play it that way with my own Warbikers. However, if I went up against a newer player who bought a copy and his copy said 2 wounds, I would concede the point to him.

Key is 'newer' player. The old timers should know GW's track record and I'd debate the issue.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Checked my codex it says in every instance that their stats are listed that all warbikers get 2 wounds so by your logic they get 2 wounds.

Alright warbikers force organization chart page says they get 2 wounds each, but the unit page and summary both say they get one wound each, thats my bad, and since it says they have 1 wound each in 2 places and 2 wounds in 1 i'm going to have to go with majority rule here and say the 2 wound thing is in fact a typo.

early bird gets the worm
second mouse gets the cheese

This is in extreme need of an Errata to bring it back to 1 wound on bikers and just 2 on the Nobs.

Look at this way... I would rather face off against an pro with 2W instead of a nob on a bike.

One question... Has GW already released a revision for the 5e Ork codex? If they have that was pretty quick by their standards.

I just wondering what other Easter eggs we will find .

I don't know maybe to boost sales they'll give ork boyz a 3 plus armour save, and include Tuska the Daemon-Killa, giving all orks the necron res-orb. will be back save and rule

Facepalm time - given the FAQ (well, errata) states the nob should have 2 not 1, this directly implies 1W for everything else.

Yay for not proof reading the changes....

The FAQ Doesn't imply anything other than Nob Bikers have 2 Wounds. GW are going to have to change the Errata to explicitly State Warbikers have 1W now. Until then they have 2.

Only when we assume that one place where it states 2W is more important then 5 places that states they are 1W ( Old Dex + 2 places in new codex ).

I will ask one more time - Did GW acctualy give any directions what statline is more conclusive in the codex ? ( Source , Page Number )

Well OK, my Old Space Wolf Codex says my Grey Hunters are Weapon Skill 5, lets bring that into consideration...

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Look, I know no-one likes it, even I realise it most certainly IS a typo, but as it stands, the Stats in its unit entry of the most recent Ork Codex says they have 2 wounds, regardless of the Summery Pages (because the Stats in the Army List/Summer are just that, a Summery), so they have two wounds until GW Errata it.

For one, I think your hierarchy between the unit entry and the army list is somewhat made up, but for two, are you sure it's not the army list that has the misprint?

From Warseer:

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.
