I'm brewing a strange and possibly ambitious modelling project. And I want to find a good range of models of anthropomorphic animals. (humanified animals, like in cartoons, fables, silly anime and furry fandom)

My wishlist is:
28mm, possibly "heroic" scale
Army gear from around year 0, preferrably roman, greek and german
Some models in steampunk style
Preferrably in plastic
Dog/wolf for a start, but a good selection of models of other mammalian and reptilian anthros as well.
Preferrably "historic" over "fantasy"
Mostly females

If I can get just some of the above, I'd be happy.

I've spent a few hours surfing the net, but I cannot really find anything anthropomorphic out there. Maybe you can help me?

please? *makes the puppy eyes*

So, I think all of these characteristics are possible to have ina single model, except "steampunk" and "roman/greek/germanic gear from around year 0". Isn't that a contradiction? Steampunk would have all sorts of contraptions and things that wouldn't be roman/greek/german looking.

Other than that I think I follow you

Check the INFINITY model range by Corvus Belli, they have some Anthro-pomorphic type models.

You just need to search harder.

Oh no, more furries have invaded Dakka. Bar the gates!

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Reaper Minis has quite a few that would suit. Unfortunately they're all metal, but few few do minis in plastic so you might be stuck with metal anyway. The Lupines are werewolf like creatures that might work for dogs. Reptus has your raptor, lizard and naga creatures. Nefsokar is a heavy egyptian themed range, and has several different lioness headed models, as well as some birds and other replications of the egyptian gods.

Grab their catalogue, its a fre pdf and I've found it a lot easier than digging through the website looking for something in particular. My only regret is having to double up on my warpbeasts so I have backups in GW casts for 'official' tournis...

Thanks a lot for all the answers. There was much more to choose from than I managed to find.

@RiTides: Indeed it is a contradiction, and I fully expect to do some heavy kitbashing and greenstuffing, but I'm planning something with a fantasy setting mixing clockwork tech (no steam or gunpowder) and ancient rome/greek. I imagine a legion of female wolves, kitted out in roman hastati gear and equipped with strange mechanical devices.

@RedSarge: Corvus Belli had some really nice stuff. They really manage to have a lot of models that look truly living and acting, rahter than posed for a shot. And I agree, my search-fu is weak.

@Whitedragon: Aegyptus was not what I thought I was looking for, but it was so damn good and inspirational I had to take a new twist on the fluff I'm writing. Now there's going to be ancient egyptian forces as well.

@Cheese: Resistance is futile, you will be furrimilated. And just you wait until the new SW codex releases this fall/winter, then we will be legion! *insert diabolic laughter*

@Morgrim: Reaper is indeed a goldmine. It's too bad their webstore is down for maintenance at the moment.
