I haven't ever seen any cobblestone or flagstone battlemats out there, per se, but I'm pretty sure you could buy appropriately textured styrene sheets. Heck, you might even be able to find an appropriately textured linoleum flooring at Lowes or Home Despot.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

The linoleum IS a good idea. I'm seeing the kind with the squares about 8" across and about 4 inchse between the squares, a grid y'know? If you mount it on some kind of hardback, you could spray it black, drybrushing up a few shades of grey. The squares are city blocks, or at least you can put city blocks over, and the grid works for streets. IF you can find the stuff in just the right pattern. Hmmmm....

I had an idea to do something very similar to this at one point. Give each tile a border on one edge for a single road lane and a sidewalk. If you put two back to back they make a two-lane road, if you put one down so it's a single you have an alley. Make a few pieces for 'special' roads and you're good to go.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

BARF!

Back on topic - I've heard of people using textured wall covering for cobblestone. Might want to look into that.

How can you say that? RCR is one of the greatest games ever! It introduced my young mind to a whole new level of violence! name another game produced before '89 in which you beat people up with brass knuckles and lead pipes then stole their pocket change?

back on topic, i think i'm gonna use styrene sheets of cobblestone, it'll be a little more expensive but have a better end effect.
