Hey all, I am running a Battle Fleet Gothic event at PolyCon this year and would like some 40K space fleet battles to read about for scenario inspiration...Can anyone recommend any Black Library novels with hot ship on ship action?

Thanks in advance!

I hear stuff from Ben Counter has some great space fight stuff. I've only read one book of his. It was a Grey Knight book. There was a ship battle of sorts but I don't believe it included whole fleets.

Battle for the abyss is almost nothing but ship on ship if you dont mind it being heresy era. The pace was a little slow for my tastes but it was still decent enough.

Nightbringer - First Ultrasmurf book Naval actions against Dark Eldar pirates

Warriors of Ultramar - Large Fleet engagement with Nids

those two I can remember off the top off my head, however there were some specific Battefleet Gothic based Novels released years and years ago, I can't remember there names though, I think Execution Hour was one of them or something to that degree.

The first Soul Drinkers novel by Ben Counter has a fantastic space fleet fight scene.

I believe the Relentless and Planetkiller books both have some fleet combat in them if I recall correctly.

Relentless was a good novel, focused on the Imperial Navy. In fact, I don't recall a single space marine appearing in the book. I also don't recall a big fleet engagement, but I could be wrong, it's been a while since I read it.

I may have it mixed up I thought that at some point that the First Officer had the ship stuck engaged in a larger battle that he could not get out of as the largest imperial ship in an engagement of perhaps 6 or more ships on a side. It has been awhile so maybe not.
