How close are you to Glen Burnie? I the I believe there is a battle bunker there.

You are going to be waiting well over a year more like two and a half for the new nid codex.... If you like them you might as well start them now.

I play with a large number of people in the Falls Church / Springfield area.

We also have a free-to-play 40k charity gaming league and tournament in the area as well.

PM me

Heya Bond. I just joined the DC/VA gaming scene as well and I've found a good base for 40K around the NoVa area.
Regarding stores, there's a GW in Springfield where a bunch of groups congregate and it's always got something going on @ one of its tables. Decent terrain too, but the place is a little small. There are also two locations of "The Game Parlour" in Chantilly and Woodbridge. They are independent stores of a considerable size and have a good number of tables and terrain along with regular Tournies and such.
If you are lookin' for just a casual group to throw back a six pack or two and blow each other up, you'll easily find groups like that in at any one of the three stores above. I've got a pretty regular group of gamers in the Alexandria/Falls Church area that could always use another for some laid-back weekend or weekday carnage (lot's of folks around here work odd military weeks; four days @ work, three days @ home, midnight shifts, etc.). If you want, let me know when you're normally available for a game and I'll see what our group's got going on. If you are going to Game Day in Baltimore this weekend, maybe we'll see you around.

@ MVBrandt: Wow! A charity gaming league in the Springfield area? LOL, Awesome news to me! Good stuff, Brandt. Gotta check the threads for more info on that.
