Okay, I searched through this a bit, and didn't see specific talk about this. Always about everything else around this.
If I missed the discussion, please point me in the correct direction.
Kustom Force Field gives all units within 6" of the Mek a cover save of 5+. Vehicles within 6" are treated as being obscured targets.
Rulebook states that if the target is obscured and suffers a glancing or penetrating hit, it may take a cover save against it, exactly like a non-vehicle model would do against a
wound (for example, a save of 5+ for a hedge, 4+ for a building, 3+ for a fortification, and so on). If the save is passed, the hit is discarded and no roll is made on the
Vehicle Damage table.
Next the Rulebook states that If a special rule or a piece of wargear confers to a vehicle the ability of being obscured even if in the open, this is a 4+ cover save, unless specified otherwise in the Codex.
Now, it is a piece of wargear, so it could draw a 4+ save, but it does give a specific save for units in the ork book, which is 5+. Now do we infer that it follows cover rules and gives the same save it gives to units (5+), or do we follow the second rule that states it is a piece of wargear and assume since it doesn't say what the vehicles specific save is, that it gets a 4+ save?
Argued before?
I can go either way rather easily on this one.
