Okay, I searched through this a bit, and didn't see specific talk about this. Always about everything else around this.

If I missed the discussion, please point me in the correct direction.

Kustom Force Field gives all units within 6" of the Mek a cover save of 5+. Vehicles within 6" are treated as being obscured targets.

Rulebook states that if the target is obscured and suffers a glancing or penetrating hit, it may take a cover save against it, exactly like a non-vehicle model would do against a
wound (for example, a save of 5+ for a hedge, 4+ for a building, 3+ for a fortification, and so on). If the save is passed, the hit is discarded and no roll is made on the
Vehicle Damage table.

Next the Rulebook states that If a special rule or a piece of wargear confers to a vehicle the ability of being obscured even if in the open, this is a 4+ cover save, unless specified otherwise in the Codex.

Now, it is a piece of wargear, so it could draw a 4+ save, but it does give a specific save for units in the ork book, which is 5+. Now do we infer that it follows cover rules and gives the same save it gives to units (5+), or do we follow the second rule that states it is a piece of wargear and assume since it doesn't say what the vehicles specific save is, that it gets a 4+ save?

Argued before?
I can go either way rather easily on this one.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

This was settled a long time ago....obscured is 4+, so the KFF gives a 4+ to vehicles, and a 5 + to all other unit types.

Indeed, this was settled by GW even when 5th came out.

KFF gives 5+ to Squishy orks and a 4+ to Vehicles.

Yes, it's really clear as it states 2 different effects - one is for non vehicle, the other is for vehicle. The second effect in no way refers to the 5+ save generated by the first effect, therefore no save is specified therefore the save is 4+

As Gwar! said, on their "cheat sheet" GW even stated it was a 4+, so you even have RaI as well as RaW
