Well, notoriously useless, right?
well, I've got a nooby sugestion to make, which seemed like fun.
Load 'm into a battlewagon, or looted tank, race m to the enemy lines, and let m rip. Still useless? Yes, but, if I am not mistaken, still causing damage. Oponent has to react and the rest of the army of unarmed orks gets a breather.
Usefull, yeey!
(Like the models, and really like the squig bombs in terms of modeling project.)

They're not useless, they're pretty good actually, you just have to be super-careful with them, and are better on small maps.
You can circumvent glory hogs by either killing all your opponent's armor, or not letting them see it.

But if you have to kill your opponent's armor to alleviate "Glory Hogs" doesn't that defeat the point of bringing Tank Bustas?

They looked really good on paper and the models were fun to paint, but after using them quite a bit I am pretty darn disappointed.

I think if Lootas were Heavy Support (where they should be...) then Tank Bustas would be more viable.

I'm taking a squad of 13 to a tournament on the 16th in Ohio. They do work very well in a battlewagon! GW says you can still release the squigs from the tank too! lol.. In H2H, their tank busta bombs rip apart even the mighty land raider.. I like them

Honestly I think the reason they get such a bad rating is because people try to use them as fire support, like lootas, and they simply are not as good at that role. With lootas, for the same amount of points you can get more shots, up to 3 times as many, twice the range, and only 1 less strength.
Tank bustas are not a fire support squad, they can not get it done, where they shine is HTH with vehicles. It is honestly a great idea, because they they utilize a traditional ork strategy to get rid of armor- charge it. The problem there is they suffer from the same sorts of handicaps that all specialized assault troops with light armor suffer from (and some new ones because of glory hogs), that is getting in range without being shot to death. This is why mounting them in a vehicle helps, it lends them mobility and protection, which are good things for assault troops to have.
If you field them as you would assault troops, using rokkits first then charging in the finish the job, and not as you would fire support, generally you find them to be worth their points. If you need fire support in your army, these are not the boyz for you.
