Ok, so after running through Gears of War 2, I've come up with an insane theory for the storyline.
Ok, so it all starts during the New Hope Research Facility Level. My theory is that scientists, trying to make some human-hybrid or somesuch tried to create the sires. These sires were originally human children, and eventually they grew. During the level, the Monitor, (Niles) talks about bringing the "Test Subjects" to the inside of the mountain (I've forgotten the name, it's the one where you drive into the Centaur). I believe that the "subjects" got out of control and bred in the mountains, creating the Locust Race. Boomers, Brumaks, etc. I haven't thought about, I was thinking a Genetic strain or somesuch.
Also, in the level is a collectible that involves the files of a certain young girl. It talks about her growth during her "tests". It specifically mentions her hair growing slower or something. I believe that this young girl is the Locust Queen.
Any thoughts? confusing, I know....but I felt like sharing it....
Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Gears had a story? Sorry I couldn't hear it over the melon-fething Cole Train going "Wooooh take that nutsack" while we were going "feth YOU AND gak EVERYWHERE AAAAAAAAAGH BLOOD IN MY MOUTH fething WORM" when hacking people to pieces with our Lancers. Really now, Gears has a horrible story and you shouldn't pay attention to it. These stupid cutscenes of the grunting muscle beasts are just there to guide you to the next chainsaw melee.
That's because Gears is a game for MANLY MEN, not those wimpy DUTCH GIRLY-MEN.
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Whilst the story in Gears is almost non-existent which tbh makes it a better game because its just about commiting mass alien genocide more than anything else. From that level I understood it that it was an experiment with that emulsion stuff on humans that created the locust they escaped and bred etc etc, its why that Brumak at the end rapidly mutates as such when it falls in.
But again who needs a story when you have a chainsaw gun and a freaking orbital laser with which to kill Locust, thats all I want not none of this I must find my wife crap.
When you give total control to a computer, it’s only a matter of time before it pulls a Skynet on you and you’re running for your life.
Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Church: So it is a sword, It just happens to function like a key in very specific situations.
Caboose: Or it's a key all the time, and when you stick it in people, it unlocks their death.
You see Sir by these people's standards and many others, that is impossible you have to choose one or the other not both. Just like consoles vs PC, PC vs Mac, PS3 vs 360, Pointy Marines vs Normal Marines, Blue Ray vs DVD, Chevy and Dodge.
I think that Gears has an alright storyline, IMHO. But personally, I prefer to focus on the gore spattering everywhere at every waking moment rather than the cutscenes.
