So I have a unit of 10 and have used them in several games, but I want to know how YOU guys use them. I've had moderate success with an exarch with the chainsabres against tyranid warriors and equivalent guys who don't have much rending. Anyone use the infiltrate on them? Anyone had good success against any race or troop type in particular?

Agreed. My squad yesterday was charged by CC warriors with rending and since they struck first they ended up killing 75% of the squad. I really do like the hardiness of them, and I like hitting on 3's, because if I have to hit on 4's I just fail... But powerweapons and doom has worked extremely well for me too. I just find that I lack staying power in my eldar force. So far the scorpions have done well in that arena. They took 3 barbed strangler hits in a row and ended up losing one man because of the good save. Dire avengers ended up taking 3x as many casualties because of the magic between 3 and 4.

I feel like they're more survivable too... Partly because of their S4, partly because of their 3+. That's an impressive tally. I guess it really is all about find enemies who have little to no power/rending attacks. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't guide only allow you to reroll missed hits in shooting? I've been slightly confused on this once or twice.

I think doom works with any squad you're working with... And as you already know, I'm just learning how amazingly effective fortune is. In response to Haderach, I have a lot of trouble with outflank. My genestealer army is no longer outflanking because I always arrive a turn too late and on the wrong side! Does anyone have success with just infiltrating them?

I run a lot of footslogging troops (avengers, war walkers) and I'm starting to have a lot of success with infiltrating them in objective missions. In fact yesterday I put them right on top of an objective, they charged, killed just enough ripper bases to keep in contact so they wouldn't be out in the open, kept a unit of 20 termagants tied up for 2 turns, killed 16 of them, and finally went down to a horde of CC warriors.

In the end they halted half of the enemy line by themselves which gave the avengers and guardians time to get up and contest the center. I'd like to try outflank, but my genestealer army has had terrible luck getting on the correct side... I feel that they're just too expensive to take a chance on, so I'm leaning more towards infiltrate.

Basically they're a countercharge/workhorse unit for me. I don't run a lot of other expensive CC units so they fill a utility role. I have the farseer/warlocks for MC's, walkers/wraithlords for AT, and guardians for mid level shooty. The scorpions for me are the ones that'll tie up valuable scoring units, take on large hordes, and contest objectives.

I'll never run bikes and once everything is painted I'll be using a falcon & 2 serpents. I sure wouldn't mind having a unit of 10 avengers in one transport, the scorpions in another for support, and then fire dragons/harlies in the falcon and have my 20 guardians as another scoring unit.

Any other advice?
