I've been playing around with the idea of using a biker list. I recently purchased a squad of bikes, and am thinking of getting more with the successful sales of some of my old stuff on fee-bay. So I'm pitching a 1000 pt list to the dakkanites to pick apart.

HQ
Counts As: Kor'Sorro Khan
With Moondrakkan

TROOPS
SM Bike squad: +3 Bikers
Powerfist
2 Meltaguns

SM Bike Squad: +2 Bikers
Powerfist
2 Meltaguns

Tactical Squad 1: +5 Marines
Flamer / Missile Launcher
Rhino w/ Storm Bolter, HK Missile, Extra Armor

Tactical Squad 2: +5 Marines
Flamer / Missile Launcher
Rhino w/ Storm Bolter, HK Missile, Extra Armor

TOTAL:
995

I know I went a little heavy on the rhinos, but I had some extra points I couldn't really do anything with. I used my predator as a rhino for this list, so that was out, and I was a bit over points for a scout squad with a heavy bolter.

The strengths of this list IMO: I am lacking on the long range anti-armor, but hopefully the speed in which the bikes can close will make up for that drawback. Also, the list is almost completely troop units with the ability for any one of them to outflank, thanks to Khan. I lose the ability to combat squad, but I have enough troop units that this is a relatively small sacrifice. Giving the biker sargeants PFs makes them more able to deal with armor, which is their primary concern, but the TL bolters should be effective enough for other units as well.

So what do you guys think? Any suggestions? This list is mainly built with the models in my collection, so I'll tell you if I have the models for your propositions.

Thanks for the help!

Well first off, outflanking is terrible, especially doing it with squads that are only in Rhinos so they can only go 12" a turn. If you come in on the wrong side of the board (which will happen 1/3 of the time), that squad is basically worthless for the whole game.

That said, for a bike list I would try to stick with bikes and use their strengths (High Toughness, High Mobility, 2x special weapons). In 1000 Points, you should be able to fit 2 Maxed out Bike squads (with 2 Meltaguns and an Attack Bike with Multimelta, Sergeant with Powerfist) and one 5-Man squad that's got 2 Meltaguns and a Powerfist. That gives you 5 troops if you combat squad and everything in the army can Turboboost and be super maneuverable. You've also got 6 Meltaguns and 2 Multimeltas for popping tanks and 24 Twin Linked Bolters that can easily be in rapid fire range for killing hordes. Plus whatever squad Khan joins can be really nasty in CC with Furious Charge + Hit and Run.
