Spending an ass-ton of money to buy a real Commissar uniform? (Yes, Commissars actually existed, they even did the same things as 40k Commissars!)

Commissars actually had secret commissars of their own that would execute the normal commissars if they didn't execute the officer they were supposed to.

I <3 tehm.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

It would be a lot easier to make a Death Korps costume. Lots of online stores sell WWII-ish greatcoats, gasmasks, and helmets.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Had some friends with SM costumes back in '88 (beakies) with backpacks and bolters and all.

Army/navy surplus stores are your bet. Coats, helmets, gasmasks and all kinds of webbing/strapping and extraneous gear.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

This came to mind. Think of it as a warning to never make your own costume.
