So can an Enginseer help you fire your deathstrike by repairing Weapon Destroyed results?

On reading through I'm inclined towards no, but not convinced, anyone else have an opinion?

No you cannot, because Deathstrikes do not suffer Weapon Destroyed results, they are instead replaced by a different effect, so they cannot be repaired.

I think you can, The rules for the deathstrike simply say you suffer a -1 modifier to your roll for launching it for "each weapon destroyed result allocated to the deathstrike missile" while the techpriest has the effect that "a Weapon Destroyed [...] result is repaired"

I see no reason that this wouldn't work to un-apply a weapon destroyed result on the deathstrike missile just like it can un-apply a weapon destroyed result on any other weapon.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

But does repairing a 'Weapon Destroyed' result make it so that it never happened? Even if it's been repaired, the 'Weapon Destroyed' result still occured.

A very good Point. The rules for the Deathstrike does not ask if the Weapon Destroyed is there or not, but simply states "Each Weapon Destroyed allocated to the Deathstrike missile while preparing to fire. -1"

Bold for emphasis. That is something I seemed to have overlooked first time round. It is a -1 for each one Allocated to it. You could repair it seventy four thousand, nine hundred and thirty two times</hyperbole>, but you would still get the -1 because it has had a Weapon Destroyed result allocated to it at some point.

you might be right, my earlier quote was accidentally conveniently cut off to support my stance without my realising.

I was preparing a reply explaining why allocated to the missile could mean ever allocated in the game or only currently allocated to it after considering repairs when I realised the rule itself gives a time frame.

"...allocated to the Deathstrike missile whilst preparing to fire"

since you are given a distinct time frame, being the firing preparation, which is the duration of the game prior to the missile firing I think it's probably not repairable, While I think the techpriest can repair the results and if the wording was "...allocated to the Deathstrike missile at this time" then it would have the functionality of allowing the repairs to reduce the modifier but as it stands, the results despite being repaired still would have been allocated in the defined time frame.
