Ok we've heard about the latest price hike and we're all irritated, however I'd like to suggest people do something about it rather than complain or worse still drop the sci-fi/fantasy wargaming happy why not look for an alternative. If you've dealt with a company which produces nice 28mm scale miniatures can you post a link to them on here. Heres several I've dealt with.

There miniatures are cheaper than GW and are actually a proper 28mm scale. Also the league allows you to suggest what you want to see made a great concept and it seems to be interestingly executed. Also I've had contact with the people running it and they seem decent sorts. I've got a submission up myself as does Kid Kyoto. http://wargamesfactory.com/BookingRetrieve.aspx?ID=51543 The league gives us the say people complain they don't get from GW so support them.

Produce a nice range of steampunk post apocalypse models. The bloke running it is good and caught a mistaken order as well as updating it when it was due and giving me some bonus goodies.

These I have not dealt with but I have seen their models and may well have acquired them from my FLGS

Avatars of War produce glorious character models to lead fantasy armies with.

Produce some absolutely awesome models I keep on meaning to order.

Expensive but really nice these complete with the Forge world stuff.

Any more for any more?

Forever alone

You can still buy GW minis from cheap online stores at very reasonable prices.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Yeah but I'd rather see more competition than just buying from GW at a discount they still earn the money and prices will stay roughly the same.

I would like to find a source of 28MM scale mecha, preferrably plastic kits but resin is okay too. Not Gundam, they're too anime. I would prefer something like those battlemech action figures that came out to promote mechwarrior, the dark age. They came and went so fast I only got a couple.

Armortech is probably your best bet although Catalyst Game Labs does produce the game so might have something linked from their.

You know you can still get those figues online? Check ebay, people sell off old collections. Also, some etailers like strikezoneonline and toadandtroll (both of these also have ebay storefronts set up and operating) sell cases of them, opened singles. Quite a bit of selection. Sure some of the stuff can get pricey if the game rules are particularly broken, but you can pick up some of the mechs for $0.89 if you are just looking for mecha figs. That's not too bad.

I can only wish that Catalyst would start putting MechWarrior out again. Lie to me. Tell me it's so.
