I've only wound up here about a million times looking for inspiration, conversion ideas and boredom killers. I figured why not join? Seems like a pretty sweet site to be a part of.

So... introduction...
.
I've been playing warhammer for years, but mostly with borrowed pieces when friend's got games together. You don't know confusion until you've repped an eldar army with a mix of marines and demons. Being a poor college kid made it a rather expensive hobby though, especially when no one up at school played so I only got a game in on the odd break.

Anyway, a bunch of people around me play now, and a local shop even has weekly campaign games, so a few months ago I finally manned up and started investing in my own force. I went with marines for several reasons and am a little armor short of a very respectable force. I'm also about to invest in a sizable second-hand tau force that a friend is letting go for WAY less than it's worth.

I mostly joined here out of a love of conversions. I enjoy painting too, and I'm not terrible, but I don't ever expect to rank among the greats. Even simple highlighting throws me for a loop. :-p But I absolutely love what they call "kit-bashing" in the model train hobby. There's nothing more rewarding to me than using whatever you can find to make a model that's truly unique. Again, I don't fancy myself some master at this, but I'm learning and hope I can pick up a lot here.

Haha, I wouldn't worry about me stealing any ideas. I'm far from good enough to re-create any of the amazing customs I see here.
