I should probably have posted one a few weeks back, really, when I 1st started posting here...

Anyway -- I'm Ian, and I've been into RPGs & wargames for something over a quarter-century. I also do live roleplaying, and medieval re-enactment.

I've done a fair bit of professional game design & writing & editing, mostly for tabletop RPGs. I used to work for Mongoose Publishing as a full-time staff writer & game designer, & before that was with Hogshead Publishing (when they were publising Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay under licence from GW), plus I've done a stack of freelancing.

Right now, I'm just playing & collecting Dark Angels, and mostly playing against my 8-year-old son's Orks. We also play Space Hulk and Space Crusade, too, as well as loads of non-GW boardgames & RPGs.

Other than gaming, I work out (usually the CrossFit "Workout of the Day", plus judo & Thai boxing), work hard (for www.aqa.63336.com ), and do some freelance game writing work on the side (often for James Wallis, who used to be my boss in the Hogshead days). Plus, I'm a Dad, and a husband, and all that important stuff too.

Uri,

I'm not the greatest painter myself, but I'm doing my best to teach my son to paint, yes. We've also persuaded my wife to help paint some of his army, as she's better than either of us.

I have taught him some Green Stuff use (I'm a way better sculptor than I am a painter), and he's made a cybork claw for one of his Ork Boyz. I had him start out with plasticine first, to get some practise. The claw doesn't look like I'd want it to look if it were my model, but it's how he wanted it, so that's fine.

Next big project is 10 cybork pirate-themed Flash Gitz for his birthday -- my wife & I have about 4 weeks to convert & paint them, so we're gonna be busy! We have 5 AOBR Nobz, a Nobz boxed set, a couple of extra cybork bits, and 5 of the new Pirate Ork Heads that were advertised here recently, and a lot of Green Stuff... I hope to post pics soon.
